Looks like a good deal - what graphics card are you looking for at this price?

Why are you considering graphics in the office / home computer market of laptop computers and price? When the graphics included are fine for web use, watching movies etc.

Hot deal, my family are looking for a sub £400 laptop to replace a 5 year old crappy desktop. I might recommend this one.

terrible deal, for this money you can just about get an i3 from dell, people see 4GB and go WOW, but that costs a couple of quid more than 2GB/3GB and people see 500GB and go WOW but that too is only worth a tiny bit more than say 250GB!

edit, ok no deals on dell i3's at the moment but there were nt too long ago.

Anyone know how this compares to the current dell deal at Amazon posted earlier?

Gotta love this site. Post any non Dell hardware and watch the irrelevant Dell fanboy comments roll in.

Personally i think this looks like a decent deal.

Does anyone know what the battery life is like??

I tried to find reviews on the web but can't find much.

Heat added.

See my post in that thread. You're comparing Apple and Oranges :)

Although both are laptops, this laptop is designed for general computing and will have pretty poor battery life (2-3 hours max). That Dell is designed to be "thin and light", it uses low energy CPU's to maximise battery life (hence 8 or so hours) at expense of performance.

Also, personally, I'd go for something like:

Brand new HP model, although less ram and smaller hard drive, it has a much better and newer CPU :)

RAM is about £20 per GB so an extra 2GB is hardly a couple of quid more like £40.

Probably about a £20 difference at retail which means an overall difference of about £60 which is not trivial.

well thats what i mean, the laptop is rubish but it has £20 more ram and £20 more hdd, doesn't mean its worth £400 though!

i don't own anything made by dell, apart from a monitor which i love! toshiba lappy for you info, and omg memory prices have changed so much since i last looked! so i might be a bit in the wrong, but still not worth £400 in my opinion just because it has 4gb and 500gb, whice are £20+£20 above the £300 laptop.

which 300pound laptop? i cant find a 300pound laptop near this spec all 300 laptops seem to have celeron rather than pentium

dell have same spec one for 449... so 400 seems ok

Looks like a good deal to me and now £10 cheaper at £389.89
