A medical doctor by professional training, Dr. Zakir Naik is renowed as a dynamic international orator on Islam and Comparative Religion. Dr. Zakir Naik clarifies Islamic viewpoints and clears misconceptions about Islam, using the Qur'an, authentic Hadith and other religious Scriptures as a basis, in conjunction with reason, logic and scientific facts. He is 43 years old.

Dr. Zakir is popular for his critical analysis and convincing answers to challenging questions posed by audiences after his public talks. In the last 12 years (by the year 2008), Dr. Zakir Naik has delivered more than 1200 public talks in the U.S.A., Canada, U.K., Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, South Africa, Italy, Mauritius, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Hongkong, Thailand, Guyana (South America), Trinidad and many other countries, in addition to numerous public talks in India.
He has successfully participated in several symposia and dialogues with prominent personalities of other faiths. His public dialogue with Dr. William Campbell (of USA), on the topic, “The Qur’an and the Bible in the light of Science” held in city of Chicago, U.S.A., on April 1, 2000 was a resounding success. His Interfaith Dialogue with prominent Hindu Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on the topic ‘The Concept of God in Hinduism and Islam in the light of Sacred Scriptures’ held at Palace Grounds, Bangalore, on 21st Jan. 2006, was highly appreciated by people of both the faiths.

In the issue dated 22nd Feb. 2009 of the Indian Express list of the “100 Most Powerful Indians in 2009” amongst the billion plus population of India, Dr. Zakir Naik was ranked No. 82. In the special list of the “Top 10 Spiritual Gurus of India” Dr. Zakir Naik was ranked No. 3, after Baba Ramdev and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, being the only Muslim in the list.

Dr. Zakir Naik stood out most eloquently for Islam and Muslims in the present times on one of the leading and most respected News Channel of India, NDTV 24 x 7, during the ‘Guest this week’ interview programme “Walk the Talk” conducted by host Shekhar Gupta (Editor-in-Chief of Indian Express) telecast on 7th and 8th March 2009.

Sheikh Ahmed Deedat, the world famous orator on Islam and Comparative Religion, who had called Dr. Zakir, "Deedat plus" in 1994, presented a plaque in May 2000 awarded to Dr. Zakir Abdul-Karim Naik for his achievement in the field of Da’wah and the study of Comparative Religion with the engraving "Son what you have done in 4 years had taken me 40 years to accomplish, Alhamdullilah.”

Dr. Zakir Naik appears regularly on many international T.V. Channels in more than 200 countries of the world. He is regularly invited for T.V. and Radio interviews. More than a hundred of his talks, dialogues, debates and symposia are available on VCDs and DVDs. He has authored books on Islam and Comparative Religion.

Ok, let's keep this on topic ie the deal
Not sure if this is available in the UK anywhere else so not sure about whether it's a good price or not although THIS seemed a better price (although probably not the full box set)
He must have a lot to say for himself if it's over 43 DVDs
Anyway, points made above and as long as it remains respectful throughout I see no problem with a "on topic" discussion. And I do mean respectful.

Good job the mods can unexpire and infract those who ignore forum rules especially when I take the time to make it VERY clear (above) what will happen if voting/spam/expire is abused

Regarding price I can not find this anywhere else so I guess this one is down to personal taste. However if it aint for you, just scroll on by. But.... as I posted earlier in the thread Dr Zs DVDs were free at the same company so that might explain to an extent.

If he Osama bin Laden is fighting the enemies of Islam, I am for him. If he is terrorizing the terrorists, if he is terrorizing America the terrorist, the biggest terrorist, I am with him. Every Muslim should be a terrorist.

And this is why the guy was recently barred from entering the UK. The IDCI kept that quiet in their mailshots complaining of the injustice of it all.

Seems a good price for what it is, but the price may be a bit alienating for people that might only be casually interested in what he has to say. For example, from when I used to work in a bookshop, the Dalai Lama books sold really well because they were accesible and fairly cheap to buy. Might account for the cold votes on here.

Not voted ether way, just came on here to see what it was all about.

It's all stuff people readily believe once read on Wikipedia and in the newspapers. The guy's been banned from Britain, which is a ridiculous notion in this day and age when the Internet opens up most borders to most anything with much less control. Why not forget trying to avoid any slight offence his presence might cause and challenge him on his views which he should be allowed to voice? The guy reportedly challenged the Pope to a debate, so he should be up for mixing it up with the usual British suspects. Either he's exposed blatantly and without question to be a terrorist supporting radical or surprisingly more reasonable than he's been given credit for. Either way the outcome would be better than the Home Office's typical scaremongering, media-pandering blanket ban.

Ugh, I stepped in politics and religion at the same time... Now I feel dirty and must go take a shower to scrub myself clean.
#26
To be fair, a lot of Atheists (led by Dawkins, et al) also wanted The Pope arrested when he comes over here for certain acts of negligence regarding Ireland (or has he already been? Too tired to think!)

Ohno, you mentioned Dawkins. Time for me to go I think.

I have to admire the way this thread sneaked in disguised as a regular deal. Good job it was so late, it'll probably die out before morning without the usual tirade resulting in the inevitable thread closure such postings attract.

Surely a newspaper with quotes and two governments are a more reliable source than a random person on the internet with no sources?

You really think its a ridiculous notion to ban extremists from our country? It's not simply about silencing them, its about showing them and others that their views are not tolerated in this country. Same goes to the other people who have been banned like that Dutch party leader and the Westboro Baptist Church. Plus in this case, there are already people who think he is moderate so its hardly a great idea to allow him to promote his views here.

Except that the Dutch politician appealed and actually came to the UK where he showed off his Islamophobia video. Nick Griffin was invited to live TV debate on question time..

Dr Naik is a Muslim who exposes media misrepresentation, tackles misconceptions and ready to challenge and debate with anyone. He also at least comes from a very highly educated background.

It looks like freedom of speech only applies if your a Christian.

I didn't realise that HUKD was so interested in citing sources for things. But, hey ho, try this and this for the statement, and then this for the IDCI's part.

For what it's worth, I'm not anti-Islam or anti-Muslim or any of that **** (why would I have given my details to the IDCI otherwise, duh), and nor do I have any particular beef with Naik. And for future reference, posting a nugget of information about someone does != trolling, Wedgey.

First, I know nothing about the Dutch chappie.

Second, like it or not (and I don't), Nick Griffin is an elected MP of an offical political party, so why shouldn't he be there?

Third freedom of speech is OK so long as it doesn't incite hatred.

This type of open discussion is what adds a lot of interest and spice to HUKD. Within seconds I googled the fellow and found on Wikipedia..... "Naik has been denied entry into United Kingdom and Canada since June 2010 owing to his alleged soft approach on Islamic Terrorism".

Simply look at what the man actually says himself in video, look at the posts that Fred Smith has provided. It substantiates much of what has been said about this man and his extremist views. Thank you for those links.
