A nice Beech finish PC desk with keyboard tray and drawers. Was £59.99. The reduced price is probably only valid till 18th January as their new catalogue comes out on the 19th January. If you buy it before then, keep it boxed because if it gets a further price reduction on 19th you should be able to get the difference back off Argos via their 30 returns policy.

thanks for this, need a new desk for my bedroom

Anyone know if the backs of these are also woodgrain?

The backs on it are plywood with a Beech finish on one side. The cable hole is about 8cm from the bottom and the diameter of the hole is 5cm.
I was after 5 or 6 cheapish desks, these sound ideal - obviously, they won't be top-notch, but i've been looking around, you don't get anything decent for < £200 anyway.

I was looking at these from euroffice:

There are £50 - quidco - 20% off first order + 17.5% vat, makes them around £45, but these argos ones seem better value for money with the drawers, etc. Drawers at most places are £50 on their own.

Obviously the depth of the argos ones are 600 - these are 800, but I think 800 is a little deep anyway.

I've reserved 6 for tomorrow, i'll build one and if they're rubbish, i'll take them all back.
I certainly think that the inclusion of several key features makes this desk a real bargain. It has a drawer for suspension files, a regular drawer, a PC compertment (with an adjustable shelf) and a keyboard shelf. I've seen some desks with some of these features, but not many with all of these features, especially for £49.99.
One more thing to add. Although the Argos website states that the total weight of the desk is 48.5kg, it states on the outside of the packaging that the gross weight is 25kg; it certainly felt more like 25kg when I picked it up from the store. I mention this in case anyone is concerned about collecting one or more of these desks in person as I was. But I must say, 25kg is quite manageable - even for a weakling like me!
argos stuff is so cheap before u know it it will fall apart!

Bit like my current computer desk fom Argos that I have had for 3 years :whistling:
Disregard my last post about it being only 25kg. It is the weight Argos says it is. I found this out after opening it last night and realising that it comes in two seperate packages - Argos never told me. So although it is heavy, it is still easier to collect because it is not all in one package. I had to go back today to get the other box :x
