This Connect3D: ATI Radeon X1900 CrossFire Edition 512Mb DVI PCI-E graphics card is only. This seems like an amazing price on a well-specced card. This is the spec I have in my machine :)

There is no proper spec on the saverstore website, but there is some information on the Connect3D page, and I believe this is the same card.

Wikipedia specs say that it is the same specs as an XT, plus it has the bonus of being crossfire compatible (so if you want to you can hook up more than one of them to act as one uber video card)

For anyone else that hasn't heard of ATI's Crossfire Technology before, be aware of the system requirements...

System Requirements
• PCI Express™ based PC is required with one x16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard and one additional adjacent expansion slot.
• To complete the CrossFire™ platform, a PCI Express® Radeon® X1900 graphics card and a CrossFire™ Ready motherboard are also required
• Connection to the system power supply is required:
• 450-Watt power supply or greater, 30 Amps on 12 volt rail recommended (assumes fully loaded system)
• For CrossFire™: 550 watt power supply or greater, 38 Amps on 12 volt rail
• Power supply must support 6-pin PCI Express® connector (CrossFire™ requires 2 x 6-pin connectors)
• 512MB of system memory
• Installation software requires CD-ROM drive
• DVD playback requires DVD drive and decoder software (not included)

If you think they are over/under-exagerated then blame ATI since this was taken from ->http://ati.amd.com/products/radeonx1900/radeonx1900crossfire/specs.html:) Either way, one of the most important points is that you have a Crossfire capable motherboard as "any old" motherboard is not sufficient.

do not buy from these, they will rip you off, previously www.savastore.com they will steal your money and run.

Agreed, con artists of the highest order, plus the card isnt the fastest GPU in the world for about a year now.

Is this the company that Tiscali customers receive emails from?

Dont go near this store. Previously called Savastore.com who went bust as they took orders then didnt deliver and have just restarted up with a slightly different name.

It really is criminal how they get away with it!

Yep - same store. See their FAQS as it mentions Watford Electronics who were the same as savastore.com

You have been warned.
#15
i've used these guys before without any issues - used to be Watford Electronics. Plus check the news items from their website...

http://www.saverstore.com/information/news.aspx

Mervyn King from the Bank of England visited at the end of 2005 - doubt if he would be associated with a dodgy company.

Unless of course they have changed dramatically?!

You have been warned:
Don't touch these jokers.
Have a look at grumbletext.co.uk and search on savastore:
This company must have the most complaints I have seen.
I suppose they think a none too original name change is going to let them carry on getting away with hoodwinking the online customer.

Apparently the company that have bought Watford Electronics out, is owned by the the brother. I never though this was a bad company, but Im starting to have my doubts. Read on for more interesting discussion;

Cheers Op! Was needing a new Graphics card. Gonna risk the dodgyness (let my credit card company deal with them if they try to shaft me :)

Voted Hot.

There is no proper spec on the saverstore website,

That's their normal little way of not making it clear to customers what they actually send you. Normal M.O appears to be send a cheaper/inferior model and hope you can't tell the difference when it arrives.
Numerous accounts of that and appalling service.
However, you pays your money.........

There is no propper specs on the website, but connect 3d only have one x1900 crossfire eddition listed, (http://www.connect3d.com/products/pcie_x1900crossfire.htm)

If it breaks, I would RMA it to Connect3d rather than savastore.

Fingers crossed...
#21
Seems sensible. What are the price of these elsewhere given that we don't know the exact spec.

Let's hope your sig doesn't prophesy anything regarding this purchase.

I think we can assume the exact specs, as Connect3D have only 1 x1900 crossfire card. ( as far as I can tell ... )

From Connect3D website
Radeon™ X1900 CrossFire™ Edition 512MB GDDR3 DVI-I + CrossFire™
(PART NO. 3057) <-- note same part no. as on savastore website.

Has anyone had an update on their order ? Mine has been sitting pending since 14:25, havn't had a confirmation email either...
#25
Well I have to vote this one hot as it is one hell of a bargain!! These cards are one of the fastest DX9 cards you can get, at this price everyone who likes to game but can't afford the best, now you can!!

Yes the company can be dodgy, but if you pay with your dredit card you should be covered, if your still unsure give your credit card company a ring first and see what they say.
#26
Glad to see other people agree, its a pity some mods are selling their stuff on commisison. Dont bother commenting, we all know what you are about.

THOSE WHO COMMENT ARE THE ONES £IN YOUR POCKET.
#27
You've completely lost me there ebayemail, what are you on about?
#28
Clicked expired now, as it says not available.
#29
Anyone got a confirmation of their order? mine has gone back to 'pending'.. :?
#30
 I phoned Savastore and they confirmed that my order world be shipped
#31
I am waiting with baited breath to see if it arrives, if it is in working order and most importantly, if it is exactly the same model/spec as advertised.
Make sure you examine it carefully to verify this as I wouldn't be able to tell a 256mb card from a 512mb card apart fom any stickers or packaging.
Brilliant bargain if all goes OK, evil incarnate will taken the duvet if there is a problem.
Good luck
