Good price for this tyre at £5.99 even if just buying the one and adding the £2.50 postage it's still decent.

Good tire, loads of grip, but heavier and less protection than the Gatorskin. Good for weekend and training rides, but not for urban or commuting.

I know gatorskin are better, but for four years I've been commuting and riding (upto 50 miles) on a mountain bike with schwalbe land cruisers and generic mtb tyres, so these are going to be phenomenal for me:-D

Cheers just ordered a couple.

The saving over gatorskins makes it well worth it, normally around £40 for a set of gators, so these are a bargain. Nearly all my riding is in central London, so I need the protection they give (you should see the shards of glass I've picked out my tires, but that haven't caused a puncture ) but if you cycle else where then these should be awesome.

I can only imagine the size of them, luckily I'm in Eston, N.Yorkshire and the biggest obstacle is the potholes really, although you get used to how to take them. I think I'd ubgrade to gators if I rode a lot more though:-)

You will never have so many punctures as you'll get with these tyres , spend the extra and get gators or Bontrager race lites ..... believe me !

I've been urban commuting on these for nearly a year now and can only think of one puncture I've had. Never seen them at £18+ but this is a pretty good price, especially if you're buying a couple.

Trust me do NOT buy these I've had so many tyre punctures with minimal riding, had two punctures within a week. Ok for turbo trainers but nothing else. Rubbish product from continental. I had to get Michelin pro 4 service course tyres and they are the best tyres for a budget. No problems with them so far. Or else get gator skins for commutes.

Just make sure your rims can support 23mm tyres. Check the chart on this page: http://sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html ("Which tire fits safely on which rim?")

Also note that mountain bikes (typically) use different size wheels than these tyres are designed for. MTB are typically 26", whilst these will fit 700c wheels (622mm rim size).

Great deal for turbo trainers, as others have said. Avoid for road use.
HOT for indoor use

It's strange they only sell you a little short piece of tyre, do you have to buy and connect about 10 of them to cover a full wheel ?

Can get 2 Schwalbe Tyrago for £25 or single for ~ £13 from ebay for inner cities.

Is it gonna fit the red tribal 3 from decathlon and is it gonna be any good for commuting? Others said about glass, that's not a problem for me, holes in road are a bigger issue:)

Great value tyres for heavier riders who wear tyres out at an alarming rate!!

And the service from Planet C is excellent!

Schwalbe kojacks are the business.

I'd get a proper turbo tyre if i was you, it'll last loads longer and work out cheaper in the long run, even at this price

sorry didnt notice it said "A recommended tyre for turbo-trainer use" in the description! i might get one too then :-)

This is correct they are terrible tyres even at this price, I used them earlier this year when the Schwalbe Londons wore out, within a week I'd had two puntures and a sidewall blow out. I put the bulletproof Schwalbes back on for a while before getting some Vittoria Zaffiros for £6 each and they've been great for the past few hundred miles.

Cold.

That was my experience as well - could just be bad luck but I had a severe blowout after just 50 miles riding, swapped out to a Grand Prix 4000S and touch wood no issues. My commuter bike runs Gatorskins and not had a puncture in around 1,000 miles or so, hope it continues that way!

These were the stock tyres that came on both my Boardman road bikes. I had so many punctures and then moved onto Gatorskins and I haven't had a puncture on either bike since.

Avoid, even at this price.
