The just released DVD of Anton Corbijn's Joy Division film, Control, is available for £11.99 at Amazon... not an especially brilliant price (not bad either) but you also get a copy of Deborah Curtis's book "Touching From A Distance" on which the film was based. Amazon's price for the book on it's own is £6.99 so it seems like a good deal to me.

I bought the book from HMV for a fiver about 6 months ago (believe it still to be that price now) So its not a bad deal at £7 for the DVD if you dont already own the book.

However, this film has limited appeal (such as why it had limited release at the cinema), obviously hardcore fans of Joy Division/New Order have already rushed out to buy it on the week of release. Once the cash cows have done reaping the benefits of maximising the RRP, stock piles are bound to get reduced.

Personally already owning the book, I am going to wait a while for discounts on this DVD (bound to happen like with 24 Hour Party People)

Fairly hot deal for those that don't have the book though, voted hot with a touch of lukewarmidity lol.

It is a brilliant film to see, for fans of the post punk scene, and a great first full length direction for Anton Corbijn.

A friend dragged me to see this in the cinema and although I wasn't familiar with Joy Division I really enjoyed it.

Cicobuff is right though, it's bound to be reduced very quickly - I think I'll wait.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it, it really is a great albeit sad film...I think given a month or two this film will be picked up for five or six quid.
