Details: Glossy cookery books are all very well, but what every kitchen really needs is a selection of core cookery titles that expertly deal with the essentials. This superb collection offers exactly that: a wealth of information presented by some of the most informed and articulate of practitioners.

Elizabeth David is one of the most inspirational food writers ever, and her classics from the 1950s show absolutely no sign of losing their relevance or appeal.

Nigel Slater is no less than a genius! No home should be without his Real Fast Food and his Real Fast Puddings - books that demonstrate good cooking needn't be a complete slog.

Rick Stein, master of all things fishy, shares the secrets of the most popular dishes he serves at his Seafood Restaurant in Padstow.

In her classic work, Jane Grigson blends culinary history with anecdotes and recipe-writing of the highest quality.

Finally, Lindsey Bareham presents what has come to be appreciated as the definitive collection of soup recipes with a chapter on stock that is described as 'masterly'. It is no exaggeration to suggest that every cook needs these books, regardless of their ability or ambition.

Back again - strange goings on ....

I ordered two sets of the cookery books, one free annual, used FPP144 and got free delivery, however, when I tried applying it to just one set of cookery books it still showed delivery at £1.75.

Why not order 2 for £10.00 - makes the second set only £3.25 !
#11
i put another book in for £1 and got the free p&p with the above code so it came to £6 kewl :)

Hi Millarcat, I'm in Northern Ireland and they are quoting £7 delivery for a £6 pound order! Have ordered before and delivery was £3.50, have emailed and asked them why the increase! Why do we always get ripped off by delivery charges?????
#39
Oh and thanks Millarcat and anewman for the links. Have ordered both. I suddenly have a cookbook and gardening collection!

Had the same problem. Could not get the site to work with Firefox, so tried IE and had to turn pop-up blocker off and make sure that the site was in the accept cookies list. It works fine now. I did email thier support and rang but nobody ever got back, but they will take an order over the phone, didn't ask about the discount code tho.
