COOKS PIE & MASH £1.29 @ FarmFoods

alandbaileyalandbailey

As an expat eastender living in Somerset, I was delighted to find that these frozen meals for one have been reduced in price to £1.29.
They come reasonably close to the real thing. Had one tonight - it was lovely.

    Hi Markle86,
I'm a fussy eater - these meals are really tasty. Try the original in the shops around the East End of London.
I have never found any grotty bits in the pies, the liquor, which was reputed to be the liquid from cooking the eels, is basically a parsley sauce. The mash is OK but not exceptional.

I have a pie and mash in sutton where i am, have visted it a few times and its very nice im sure ive heard the owners originally came from east london but being only 26 i cant compare to how it used to taste. Will be visiting farm foods again this week hopefully today or tomo so i will be adding a few of these to my basket. Cheers again

If you ever visit East London, (E1, Stratford, Forest Gate,East Ham etc) look out for a Cookes or Mudies Pie & Mash shop. There is a Pie & Mash shop in Queens Market, Green Street,Upton Park,E7 - or there was! Also I think at Middlesex Street, E1. (aka Petticoat Lane).
All I can get in Somerset is the frozen version at Farmfoods but still tasty!
