Fantasy pricing ! Last wek it was £10.99, previously £11.49 and recently £9.99. It happens regulary with ARGOS, they zoom the price up then knock it down to give the impression your saving !

Not really. A pound or two up or down is not the point. It is often £23 from what I remember, see link below, at Argos most of the year. For me it doesn't even show on the search hitlist when typing "fat fryer" which means not many left. The only reason Argos recently dropped the price is because Homebase does it at this price for a while but Argos reserving and store locations is more convenient. It's a quality build and not cheap shoddy plastic which is about a tenor but if that rocks your world, cool. Finally, if someone hates Argos or Homebase, they can buy it for the same price at ebay but then again it is used and you have scrub the old fat off. Wait a month and when Homebase stock finishes like Argos, pay £23 or buy cheap unbranded Argos plastic.

Capacity 0.4kg??

As I said in OP, it is bijou & compact but can do batches. Compact fryers usually do .4 to .5 kg. You'll have to chop a Cod into bits but perfect for frying your Mars bars lol.

does this come apart for easy cleaning op (only ask as you have one) is the inner frying'bowl' removable?

Washing the inner is easy, did it last night. The inner basket is smaller than should be. I'll be fashioning into shape a second basket, probably from the pound shop, as an extra attachment to increase the capacity volume by ~%25.

P.S. Luke is right, inner is fixed.

Whatever you say, the fact is the price is back down to the £9.99 realistic price I previously mentioned !

Thanks saved me 3 quids. Read my posts above, a couple of quid is not the point but half the £20+ price which is most of the year. Also people spending hours daily regularly to save a couple of quids is moronic: check out the minimum wage rates. Simple logic & maths. Finally, if you wait it will be in Poundland, by about 2095. lol. Great deal. P.S. Got a big colendar for it too.

So how many have you purchased ? (I presume you bought again after I mentioned the price reduction to £9.99 ). I think it is probably a good buy as a backup at this price. Considering the various reviews it may be worth the extended 3 year replacement guarantee, which is price linked, so lower price for fryer means lower price for guarantee (possibly £1.99). How about a laugh, what do you think the price of the fryer will be when it changes again next Wednesday ?

Just bought one to cook chicken popcorn, onion rings etc in as I have been using a normal pan.

This will be a lot safer because of the thermostat.

To give people and idea of the size, a normal sized mars bar will only fit in diagonally if using the basket.

You could probably fit about 4 sausages across the fryer if you take out the basket.

Can someone tell me the wattage this thing is rated?

Edit: just bought one they are for info 840 watt, for those of us that use solar.

This old post was made hot? BTW washing it is easy but someone asked about size: If you have to ask, you can't afford the size, it's too small for you. lol.

I bought this because someone posted "small but ideal for two" you're having a laugh, it's probably not big enough for one if you been hard at work all day and want a plateful of chips, pass this by, returning mune as soon as I finished typing.
