"This kettle absolutely reeked of plastic when first purchased. After over a week of boiling, washing, cleaning with bicarbonate of soda it still smells & taints the drinks in our office. It boils water but I don't suggest that you buy it."

mixed reviews, some good/some not so good as above!

"I bought this as a replacement for my Tefal kettle. It was packed well and the base came packed inside the kettle. The kettle itself is very light and I was worried at first if it would be up to the task. These fears were soon to be proved unfounded. It has stood up well to the everyday rigours of life in my household. The level indicator is easy to see and the kettle is easy to fill via the spout without having to lift the lid. The only criticism is that the instuctions say to boil the kettle once to get rid of the initial plastic taste. I think that was an understatement. It needed about half a dozen boilings and water changes to get rid of the plastic taste. That said it is a great value for money item."
