no codes are working?
Cheers OP +1
My washing machine failed on Sunday and have bought this - arrived today and I have just plumbed it in. Also picked up 2% quidco. Previous machine was also a Bosch 1400 and I worked out it was 17 years old before it failed. Well worth the money.
Anyone have one with dryer build in - I'm looking for one , but no space to put both in the kitchen.
Can you recommend any models ? Cheers.

I also have no complaints as I bought this a few weeks ago. Only thing is it is absolutely huge compared to my old 32 incher!
Amazing price for this much TV, I got it for £350 delivered using code TV35 to take £35 off it and also about £7 cashback too through TCB.

Really like the TV, much better picture quality than I was expecting from a budget set. 4K content (using the built in Netflix and Youtube apps) looks amazing. Smart features limited but what is there is very fast and responsive. Has dual band wifi and ethernet. Sound is reasonable for a LCD and even has a subwoofer (RCA) port to add some bass for a cheaper alternative to a soundbar. 1080P from Xbox One/PS4 looks great too, no upscaling artefacts at all that I can see. Freeview HD looks absolutely fine. SD content looks pretty poor but I think that should be expected on a 4K TV of this size. Only slight issue is mine seems to have a little backlight leakage/bleed at the screen edges but not excessive by any means. Coop Electrical immediately offered a swap but I don't think it's bad enough to justify it really...

Any one thinking of buying this tv should look at the AV forum owners page...

I'm struggling to find anything negative on there, which I assume is what your implying. any chance of a link to the thread.

This looks good - too bad I just bought the 55X8509 for £799 :(

From where can't get hold of 55x8509?
thanks for the reply deedie. You recommend the sony tv's (appreciate older model) and if you have one that sounds good to me. In the shop, like I stated above, it appeared to have the best picture but I am always weary as you don't get a real picture/scenario when viewing in those circumstances.
trades777
i would appreciate a link to the thread also. I am seriously considering buying this. Went to Currys last weekend and viewed various tv's which I appreciate all run the currys demo program etc. Viewed this tv and at one side was a samsung at £1399 and a panasonic a little cheaper. Can't remember the model numbers etc but picture wise this looked the best out of them all. All were 55inch tv's, 4k HDR etc. If anyone has bought of one these can they please comment on their experience with the tv in a real life scenario using SD, HD and 4K.

if he ever does reply with a link. I'm going to guess its the 80+ page thread from last year for x8509. all the info/problems in that thread are irrelevant now, as they have been sorted, and the android tv platform is pretty solid now. sure you get the odd wee issue now again, like every android device, but nothing that's a deal breaker for these tvs.

I have the x8509, its the best buy I have made in a while. had it almost a year now.

I got mine on Friday. I must say it is an absolute bargain!

Good points;
1) looks beautiful hung on the wall with its tiny bezel.
2) Netflix and YouTube both capable of 4K streaming (with good internet).
3) Wifi has both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
4) Picture quality in the mid range colour and exposure is amazing!
5) Cheap as chips!
6) TV has done two software updates since I've had it already!

Bad points;
1) You cannot force YouTube or Netflix to stream in 4K, it's dynamic depending on your download speed.
2) When using the YouTube app to stream music videos and using the Line Out to connect to my sound bar, the TV applies too much bass and makes it sound very poor. To fix this I had to use Optical Audio out which plays perfectly.
3) When dark pictures are displayed, you can see where the LED light sources are at the edge of the panel.
4) ugly remote ( but is easy to use).
5) No HDR.

I hope my review helps! I think I ordered the last one they had in stock though...

Happy viewing people!

Got mine yesterday and can confirm commercial 4k is supported on the HDMI as have run my PC to it and it looks incredible, agreed the SD channels are naff but only use Xbox one, PS4 and PC on it, absolute steal at £350 also like the way you have complete control over the sound frequencies, Netflix works great just a bit confused as iplayer was on the box and ive not discovered where that is yet lol

got to enable iPlayer via the smart TV function. I go via my Fire TV box and the definition is amazing.

Ok on first impressions, and i am no techy so forgive me. We've tried the smart side, normal tv aerial and through an xbox 360. The normal tv aerial is pretty grainy, ok but I much prefer the picture on my LG 42LB5500. Same with iplayer. xbox gaming is great (minecraft)! 4k videos on YouTube are fantastic! My daughter likes to watch bloggers on YouTube, these are also amazing. The questionable thing for me is the picture through the standard tv aerial. Not sure I can do anything about it, so not sure if it's worth keeping...

thanks for the feedback. mi e just arrived and setup...must say it's great, super looking, thin bezel and feature packed. even plays codec movies with subtitle and multi audio options....very impressed and a bargain at the price.

all brands are crap nowadays, they aren't built to last, just to be replaced. and beko is one of the better brands. though mine abit noisy at times tbh, but its does what it says on the tin for £150 ish
Their tumble dryers catch fire, their fridges catch fire, their washing machines chuck a brick through your worktop or shatter the glass on the front.

And people want to take a chance because it's cheap. Good luck is all I can say.

Its hotpoint and indesit that have had occurences of blowing up/catching fire, avoid those at all cost!

Japan sold Sharp 8k tv from last summer: not sure about terrestrial but 8k certainly exists now
We may well be getting 8K screens soon and I have no doubt that there will be enough people that will buy into it and pay out the money for them.

But we don't even have HD as a fully mainstream delivery method, let alone 4K, so it will be a very long time before we see enough content for 8K.

Add to that the additional bandwidth required and the question of whether our infrastructure can support the data needs.

You saying we are getting 8k screens soon?
it is a reality and they are already broadcasting http://www.pcworld.com/article/3102875/consumer-electronics/japan-starts-8k-tv-broadcasts-in-time-for-rio-olympics.html
the most recent GPU's are already able to take care of an 8k screen already
Japanese used to broadcast 4k very long time ago already, expect 16k soon

Nonsense. The Beko tumble dryer I bought is excellent with deservedly good reviews on Amazon. Unlike other brands which have been recalled due to fire risk as lint was catching fire on the heating element.

The Karcher to put it out when it sets on fire?
This brand should have been banned for risking the lives of consumers!
Let's buy Hotpoint, Whirlpool or Indesit shall we?
Oh, they have recalls due to fire issues.
Let's go for Bosch then... But they had fire issues with their dishwashers a few years ago.
You tell me... What should we go for?

A washing line probably wont set on fire. Washing dishes by hand would avoid electrical fires.

Bought a Sony 50" tv from Co-Op Electrical. Good price but issues with obtaining the "free warranty" they had advertised. The Co Op just didnt want to know. Didn't answer my emails. Managed to sort it out myself in the end so I would advise anyone buying they are a rubbish supplier.

It's my understanding from reading reviews that oled is far better than LED. Now, I know LED (and thus TV) has HDR, but I was under the impression that oled is so superior to LED that it blows the HDR function out the water. Am I wrong? For this price you could get a decent oled TV. Plus, doesn't HDR need a HDR source? There aren't really any HDR sources out yet, and when they are out surely oled HDR would be out and reasonably priced - in which case, is this TV expensive and redundant? There isn't a point in paying a premium for an HDR TV for future proofing if by the time the source is out, much better TVs are available. Am I right?

There is 2 HDR devices out, Samsung 4K HDR bluray player and Panasonic HDR bluray player.

OLED v HDR set depends how the individual sees and likes the different visual fidelity.

I see normal price is about £800. What makes this machine worth double other machines that have similar load capacity and spin speed?
