My advice? FORGET IT - CDiscount bedroom furniture is a disaster

Here is a copy of my latest communication with CDiscount, (previous emails have been ignored):

Can you tell me what I have to do to get you to collect this firewood you sold me?

It sat as a pile of cheap wood for 4 weeks when the ‘wardrobe’ was supplied with two left side panels and no right side panels. Agreed, part of that 4 weeks included dealing with your supplier direct (who will not give a contact phone number, they only accept contact by POST – who knows, that may catch on) – and after a wait of over two weeks, they sent me a right side panel – for a completely different wardrobe!

I contacted your customer “care” department and it was agreed that the product was most certainly not “fit for the purpose” as without a correct right side panel it doesn’t stand up, and if it doesn’t stand up you should be careful when hanging clothes in it. An address in “Oxon” (do people still say that?) was given and a collection date of two Mondays ago now (23rd January) was confirmed.

Well guess what…

Yes, I no longer have a pile of wood where I dreamt a wardrobe would stand. I have two huge cardboard boxes blocking up my hall, ready to go with Oxon address sellotaped on each. That’s 9 days we’ve had to squeeze out the front door. In that 9 days I have emailed you twice, and your customer careless department has thought I might just give up and keep the wood. I promise you I won’t.

Come on guys, you can try and sell rubbish, I don’t blame you for that. When people realise it’s rubbish you do have to accept that you can’t hide away and pretend the emails didn’t arrive. That’s the law you see.

If you credit my money back, I’m happy to give my pile of wood to old people as a winter fuel payment, the only useful future it has. Just let me know.

Bearing in mind I ordered this on January 12th, your responsiveness to a completely duff product has been an absolute disgrace. I do think I am entitled to a refund and an apology. And a telly.

I had to find another email address to send it to - the "[email protected]" address they use bounces, can you believe it (yes).
My advice? FORGET IT - CDiscount bedroom furniture is a disaster ...

I would never deal with a website that does not give its postal address and customer services email address on its "Contact Us" page. Also, their Terms & Conditions page requires you to click on 20 headings just to be able to read and print them out!

They state that they are "the largest European online retailer". Wow. Amazon must be really struggling! :whistling:
Ah but they DO have a customer care email address!!! It's stated by me above and given on their website; [email protected]">[email protected] - try it, it bounces immediately!

I was mostly disgusted (I have been disgusted in so many ways by Cdiscount) by them telling me that --> I < --- needed to speak to ---> THEIR < ---- supplier direct about ---> THEIR <---- incompetent delivered product. A company who refuse to speak to you by telephone, you need to fill in a form and post it to them. From that date, it took 3 WEEKS for them to deliver a replacement, which again was completely the wrong thing! SOLUTION: Send another request by post for the RIGHT bit - wait 3 more weeks - I don't think so!!!!
