Bargain price when its fully available - question is - is it any cop?
#3
as soon as i can find a copy of this ;-) i shall let you all know, unless someone buys it beforehand, however, it seems a bargain at that price!

If you read the hype it's tom toms real competitor in the sat nav world and at that price it's a steal

Cheers.

Any real world users of co-pilot care to comment?

Is available now, just search for Copilot live. Would be interested to know if this is any good, however the screenshots look pretty cool!
#6
Seach apps on the iPhone and it is available. Screenshots look good and good value. Hot from me.
#7
This looks great. Just saved me from buying a standalone one, just need a car bracket now.
#8
anyone know if you can buy usa maps for this?

I had CoPilot Live 7 on the N95 and did the job and was the only real alternative at the time as TomTom had given up on Symbian handsets. It was easy to use and they also provided free speed camera updates, don't know if this is provided for the iPhone though (looking at OP, yes it will be :)) If you allow it online access it can give you traffic updates, providing you receive it and read it before you get to the incident you can tell it to reroute. The 'live' part lets you send your location information to anyone that you give access to, parhaps so they know what time to expect you etc...you can choose not to use this.

If I had an iPhone I would probably buy this, especially at this price. :)
#10
if you search for copilot on the app store it is there, even though this link shows it isnt, looks good to me! shame the £60 europe maps are not out yet might be purchasing later
#11
im very tempted by this, but would like to know if any one has tried it yet before i take the plunge.

Is there anyone braver than me out there, who has this app and can let us know what its like?
#12
Been available on Android for a bit now, it's fantastic and worth every penny :D
#13
This is very tempting, I wonder if this price is only for a limited time? I would like to see a few reviews before buying though.

Also, if anyone does buy it, don't forget your Quidco!
#14
Another thing, are the maps up to date?
#15

It's on my iPhone £25.99 and buy now

what happens when you receive a call? Also does it go straight back to the navigation after you hang up?
#16
Co-pilot is the worse sat nav software I have ever used.

Took me miles out of my way - much prefere TomTom

I wondered that as well so gave them a call, they asked their tech dept and I got the following response within a couple of hours:

''Further to our conversation, our senior technicians advise that Copilot will come back automatically after a call, you will not need to restart the program.''

seems like a winner to me,:)

According to this: http://www.electricpig.co.uk/2009/08/06/copilot-live-first-iphone-satnav-hits-the-app-store/

"It’s a staggering achievement, and cheaper than we’d expected at a penny under £26. CoPilot is also promising a free update soon to add safety camera alerts, a smarter walking mode and clever call handling to let the app remember your destination after a call."

TomTom was announced today for £113 including the GPS cradle. I'd say that will not sell too well!
#20
ok thought I would have to wait until I was on the way to work to test it out, but it is picking up my location from inside the house which is good so I have had a little play,
All seems pretty good, cant seem to turn off the annoying beep when pressing for options though
Voices available are not annoying
Maps are very up to date ( going by the presence of the new Turnpike Junction in north Swindon which has been open for only 6 months or so)
Setting up a route was easy

oh one important thing, if a route is running and you get a call, when you hangup copilot restarts and goes to the route you had within about 30 seconds, long journey thats great, in town not so good but the same as running satnav on my old N95 (will test it propery on the road later)
#21
Just installed it, feels a little sluggish on my 3G. Not been out with it yet though. If anyone finds out to turn the screen beeps of please let me know as they are very annoying.

I've got it on my N95 8GB, same situation. Think it's a good piece of software, much better than that Garmin XT rubbish. Shame TomTom is no longer supported, i've still got the most recent version on there too but it's years out of date

Might as well go and buy a standalone GPS for that sort of money!
#24
Bargain. About time they started pitching the price properly. £113 for TomTom, cradle or no cradle is a bloody rip off! Hot!
#26
been tom tom for the last 5 years, for this price i may change tho
#27
I have been using CoPilot for over a year now. I got it free with O2 Orbit. I am very happy with it. I don't have TomTom to compare.
#28
Copilot is great- have it on my n95 and it does the job very very well. At this price, you just cannot go wrong. Great find OP. Voted HOT !
#29
thinking of going for this. Does anyone know a decent windscreen mount for the iphone ? I assume I can connect to the car stereo to get better voice instructions?
#30
How up to date are the maps?
#31
Dont forget Quidco- save another 6%!
#32
Can anyone confirm this application allows the iPod to remain playing in the background?
#33
Purchased today and can confirm it allows ipod to play in the background

i had it for a year then changed it fo the HTC Diamond equivilent (ca nt remember tis name) and that was even worse.
in the end i had to give in and reluctanly went for the iphone, and have to admit i should have done it sooner

#37

#38

Heat and rep added :):-D
#39
Might be worth hanging on for the European version, if you can part with £60

very apparantly according to the guys over at avforums

I can agree with the maps being up to date, I live in swindon and the new Turnpike junction that has only been open about 5 months is all on there so seems good for me!
