This works equally as well as TomTom for the iPhone, but for a third of the price. Well worth £20 (think I paid £26.99).

I would advise people who live outside Belfast in the smaller towns to stay clear as their mapping is very outdated. When i had my 3gs i was very disappointed and tried to get my money back but to no avail. I then bought TomTom and it was perfect. I also thought the GPS worked better on TomTom but this is only my opinion and make work different in other people's iPhones.

Good price if it works for you.
#4
I have both and prefer co-pilot 8

cant get the facebook thing to work though
#5
Early versions weren't great but the updates make this great for the 3gs. Does drain the battery though.
#6
its **** dont bother i had to get a refund from apple cos copilot keeps crashing avoid this app, get the tomtom app far better and u only get what u pay for remember that
#7
i've tried TomTom, Copilot and NDrive via Appulous, and prefer Copilot personally.

That said, I find none is anywhere near as good as my dedicated £40 TomTom Go V3 off ebay.

i got the n-drive for 9.99 a few weeks back and im quite impressed however sometimes gps loses you and gets stuck on a roundabout you took way back. ive heard reports copilot has the same problem too.

if youre not going to use a sat-nav more than say, three times a week, the n-drive is more than capable.

With the rumours that Google Maps will be going turn by turn soon i'd avoid buying any sat nav software for the iPhone. Google maps, coupled with streetview would be superb

It works really well on the Desire. Will Jobs allow it though ...

I tried the Google Navigation thing on a custom Android 2.1 rom on my Hero and thought it was poor. There are no maps actually saved to your phone, so everything is coming in live via your mobile web connection. Lose reception and you lose your navigation. Also, maybe there was a setting that I never spotted, but it was very Americanised, calling roundabouts "traffic circles" and the likes.
Co-Pilot has been great for me, but I still favour my old Tom Tom One.
#12
When i had it i found too many annoying bugs.Got tomtom instead which works a treat. For me worth the extra.

Google denied it was going to come on the iphone.
#14
I paid £26.99 to get it on my 3GS

I will highly recommend it for this price....its excellent sat nav as good as tomtom but half the price.

As I have a TomTom already, this seems more suitable for emergencies when the other half steals it. Repped!

Can't decide whether to get this or not, and ebay my TomTom v3. Mostly so I just don't have the extra device... :|

Far better than TT

go for it - I use it on my 3G and it work fine!

I can't give a positive review for this. Tried it on 2 Iphones and the same problem exists on both, despite settings tinkering and whatever. It simply doesn't work! It seems to find a signal etc OK but then just says determining current location. When it does place you on the map that's a triumph, and even then not much of one because you can drive for miles and miles and nothing happens.

Happy to change my mind if someone can correct me - tried customer service and have had zilch back. Will seek refund again.

Are you using a 3g or 3gs? I found on my old 3g it wouldn't pick up anything but on my 3gs it picks the signal up straight away and off I go, may be a problem with older 3g iphones?

Save even more money and download waze for free from the app store.

http://waze.com/
They're on twitter @waze
They're great with support.
You make the maps as you drive, and it helps you plan your daily route to work.
It depends on you and other drivers to report speed cameras and traffic.

Say you were driving to work and your mate was a bit further up the road and ran into a jam, waze is already reporting this and you leave the house knowing there's a jam and it will tell you to go a clearer route.

You also earn points for creating new areas on the map, keeping it updated etc.

IT'S FREE!!

IT'S CRAP!!

I use satnav because I don't know where I'm going/never been there before. Why oh why would you need satnav to the places that you drive regularly?

You've certainly missed the point then by only reading and quoting a small bit of what I wrote

N-Drive is good. I use it and have never really had a problem.

Although good price for Co-Pilot

Thank you - but I've tried both and the same problem with each, I'm afraid!

I suspect that if I tried again there may have been improvements or updates but the total lack of response from their customer services makes me reluctant, to be honest.

I have a Samsung Pixon 12 - will this work on it (of course it won't, but you've got to ask, haven't you ?)
I need a Tom-Tom kind of thing for walking, and the ridiculously expensive Route 66 crap that Samsung have allied itself with...I just refuse to pay such a ridiculous amount. I'll only rarely the use the bloody thing !
If this won't work anyone know a freebie ? ;-)

for those with memory loss.....but then theyd probably forget the address

copilot is the dogs B's !
No other iphone sat nav has speed cameras

I can vouch for this. Had it since it was released and it's freaking awesome! I never have issues with the signal (early days it was iffy as was TomTom which I also got but got a refund for) but they've tweaked it and works fine. The UI is very configurable which I like although Live traffic services with petrol prices are an additional £19 a year but this is still less than the TomTom app costs and this looks so much better.

Second best app I've bought. Best was Tube Deluxe for 59p! :-D
#39
How much does it cost to upgrade the maps say in a years time?
#40
I have this for my Hero and its not good. It often takes you in a really wierd roundhouse way and sometimes doesn't get you there at all. Its very good at finding places on the map (better than TomTom) but its nowhere near as good as TomTom in getting you there. It tells you about 2 miles in advance of your next turn which is way too early and unecessary and there are other things it does which does my head in.

Can't wait for the new Google sat-nav if they ever release Android 2.1 for the Hero.
