Based on Neil Gaimans international best-selling book and helmed by The Nightmare Before Christmas director Henry Selick, is the first high definition, stop-motion animated feature to be shot in 3-D. In the film, a young girl (voiced by Dakota Fanning) walks through a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternate version of her life. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life--only much better. But when this wondrously off-kilter, fantastical adventure turns dangerous, and her counterfeit other mother (voiced by Teri Hatcher) tries to keep her forever, Coraline must count on her stubborn determination, bravery, the aid of her neighbours and a talking black cat to save her real parents and some ghost children and to get back home.

Special Features
This limited edition contains 2 discs and 4 pairs of 3D glasses, as well as:
- 2D theatrical feature
- 2D version audio commentary
- Deleted scenes
- The making of Coraline
- 3D version is on disc 2

this movie was one of my favourites this year.. fantastic in 3D
although you do just feel like you've been on the shrooms through most of it

are the glasses for the dvd- the same as the cinema ones?
im not getting back great reviews for 3d at home.

Does anyone know what subtitles this DVD has? If not, does anyone know of a website which provides detaails of subtitles on new releases? The Amazon entry doesn't mention anything about it.

great price for a great film. for those who own a blu ray player or ps3 you really have to buy the blu ray version. its the type of film that needs to be watched in high definition to do it justice.

The amount of reading I did on Friday to find out about circular polarization RealD 3D glasses (cinema) and the cheapy green / magenta you get with this...however was interested to see that some of the sports networks in the USA use RealD 3D - I wonder if this is what sky is using....

Because TFT screens as used in most modern flat screen TVs can't reproduce the polarized images produced for the cinema, as they actually use polarization to produce the trichromatic images themselves so if the images were polarized this wouldn't work so AFAIK no dvds or blu ray or hd 3D films produced for the domestic market have to rely on the simpler colour difference images, using red and green glasses, which produce a much cruder effect.
