good deal for 13.3 laptop...

Its weird that pc world/currys and dixons don't even sell it new only refurbished.

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/toshiba-satellite-t230-10j-refurbished-laptop-06218918-pdt.html

£429.99 - 10% means your making a good saving even if it is. Only 11 in total up for grabs.
I would go for it if i needed a laptop but my tower suits my needs at the moment.

Hot though !

this isn't a normal i3 - its the 'ultramobile' version
good for battery life but about half as fast as the regular one.

I expect if you turn it on/ open it you can't but otherwise within 7 working days. Only going by my experience with 2 tvs from dixons which i think is part of the same group. They wouldn't let me return a tv the next day as i had turned it on.WHich is why i will never buy anything of greater value (£50+)from any of them again unless its a super saving (Subject to certain things e.g console would be ok as things are always the same unlike tvs and there damn panel/processor lotterys !). Which is why i will now buy any tv i buy in the future from amazon.I am still looking but there isn't much choice (trying to avoid a brand name and a certain lcd panel) I learned the hard way and could of saved £2-300 in the end after looses on both the tvs. I have returned 2 tvs to amazon due to not being happy with either. As for laptops I would probally only go with amazon because of there awesome return/service ect

So i wouldn't hold your breath that you can return once its been turned on unless its faulty unlike amazon ........

Hope it helps, just telling you my experience so you hopefully won't make a mistake like i did ! Twice :(

Toshiba warranty extensions from £27 for 1 extra year
http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=UK&com.broadvision.session.new=Yes&PRODUCT_ID=1088561&tab=2#2

Based on disk, memory, battery life and portability in general (and possible warranty extensions) this must be hot. (Shame CPU is slow.)

distance selling regulations say that you are allowed to open and turn on, but it must be in "as new condition" and you must inform the seller you want to return it within 7 working days of you receiving it.

know your rights as some companies try to say you have to have it returned to them within a week, (they're just banking on you not knowing the DSR)

if in doubt, if you do want to return it quote the DSR when you let them know. They also have to refund you the original shipping cost to you as well.

it is a pretty good price for the spec. as some netbooks are close to £300 and they have atom CPU which can;t even compare to a i3.

That's the tosh spec battery life, not realistic, I found a review on amazon that states it's more like 4.5 hours

This a very good price for an ultra portable with i3 processor. Presumably faster than older Core2 Duo SU9600 machines that are now end of line. Voted hot.

Thats all well and good but you try and actually implement the DSR's with them DSG group are notorious for flouting them which leaves you with only one option which is court proceedings.

Very tempted if it weren't for the keyboard - had experience with a Tosh that has a similar style chiclet keyboard and I'm not a great fan of it.

Yes, I was just going to say that. The regular i3 is scorching fast (unless you use heavily threaded applications). This one is still a lot faster than an Atom based netbook, but it is no comparison to a real computer.
#22
I will say those who are thinking this can be returned to a pc world store, I would severely doubt they will take it back as it is done through ebay. You still have a 7 day cooling off period but it will need to be done through ebay and not the store.

Good laptop for the money, but I would want it to be near perfect for the money.

Which is better this or the Samsung E452 from play.com at £329?

Depends what you're after - smaller screen and longer battery life - go for the this one (but be quick - not many left) or better screen, bulkier and not-so-good-battery - go for the Samsung OR fancy a very good value Dell refurb -> (only 6 left) http://outlet.euro.dell.com/Online/InventorySearch.aspx?brandId=7&c=uk&cs=ukdfh1&fid=1212&l=en&s=dfh

STILL 6 LEFT
