Intel announced price cuts yesterday to the existing processors to prepare its processor lineup for the upcoming FSB1333 Core 2 Duo Processors. So prices should hopefully fall over the next few days :)
#7
I had the E4300 it in my shopping cart at 66 early this morning, I now click to checkout and it's gone up! :x From £66 to £70. So I'm not buying it till ebuyer stop playing silly ******s.
#8
Yeah I'm waiting for the E6600 to go back down to £140.

I believe these are all the new prices, online stores started reducing the prices ahead of the intel move at the end of last week (as they already knew what the new prices were to be), around the time of the e6420, e6320 launch.

Hence at the moment they wont fall any further, ebuyer have been the last to move on the e6600 (but had already moved on the rest of the processors) as i have been waiting since friday for them to drop from their previous £173 price on ebuyer.

said it before and say it again...I'm sure ebuyer look on here to see what's HOT..they then review the price and increase accordingly..I also notice super saver delivery has increased recently ...taking advantage to increase profit at google's expence...they are a total pain with their fluctuating prices.

Well I got cold rating for reporting that Komplett.co.uk have the Core " Duo E6600 for £145 but they don't pi$$ about with there prices every two seconds. (plus my order was sent out same day on std postage :) )
#12
Price is £158.95 right now before google discount. Think someone should edit the title of the thread or it's gonna get pretty chilly in here! =)
#13
Now £191.21, haha

What's going on with ebuyer this past 2 weeks or so, prices up & down every few minutes plus p&p up & down like a yo-yo as well, i've been a happy customer with ebuyer for the past 3 years and i've never seen anything like this from them.

I've been wanting this cpu for a couple of months now but didn't want to pay around £200 for it , so i've been keeping a close eye on the price and hoping it would drop to under £140, then i seen this post this afternoon and jumped at but ebuyer were showing cpu as £166. odds, so i thought it may go back down in price after but was i wrong it's now showing the price as £191.21 that's more than it was last month when i was watching, they have to get their act together on the pricing of thing's, the thing that gets me is that they know the intel cpu prices are droping everywhere else and they think people are going to pay them £40-£50 extra lol (i'm not) i'll just have to wait a few days or so till they get their heads together.
#15
Down to £150 now (£140 with Google). I'm going to wait a few more days.

EDIT: £155 now!
#16
Hehe. WTF is it with these guys?
#17
Automatic pricing based on stock/demand.

Current pricing (exc. del)

Aria: £141
Scan: £145
Tekheads: £145
Komplett: £145
Microdirect: £149
Ebuyer: £154
Chillblast: £157
KustomPCs: £157
Misco:£160
Dabs: £160

Prices are still reducing by a couple of quid a day, I'm holding on until they stabilise.

That's a really good price from Aria, but then it's £7 for shipping, which makes ebuyer cheaper still after Googleness, that's crazy...

EDIT: oo aria also do Googleness now, only just seen that!

EDIT again.... hold on, aria don't give you a tenner off?

Yeah, I didn't include the Ebuyer Googleness, since the £10 is coming out of Google's pockets, and it doesn't excuse Ebuyer for having a higher price. They have increased the price of some products since the offer started, including this very item which was initially reduced to £140 to reflect Intel's price cut.

No £10 discount though. Many retailers are starting to accept Google as the processing fees are free at the moment. But Google only offers the promo £10 discount to certain retailers.

Yeah, I just added it to basket and was confused when I went to Google Checkout and saw no £10 off! Ah well, just ordered myself a new PC anyway, mostly with stuff from Google, 7 separate orders since they were all above £30!

I don't think this chip is gonna come down in price any further now and as it is only slightly more powerful than the E6420 I'm fairly positive that this is the one to go for as it is now some £30 cheaper from ebuyer.
#23
Cheaper at Komplett £151.01 inc postage

Cheers, forgot about them :)
#25
Down to £132.31 with google checkout. Grab it quick!
#26
Damn, missed it again!

This does show again that it can get to this price point. I certainly won't be paying more for it than this, as it will inevitably go down again.

Thanks for the post

Having looked around I made the decision with the pricing from Aria with google checkout. £139.11 delivered. Given that the E6420 is around £120+ I don't really see much more being shaved of the lowest price.
#29
Kulaak, good choice. Have you received it yet? If so, could you possibly check the batch code for me? It's the 5th (last) line of writing on the front of the chip and will be something like "L629F122". Many thanks.
#30
Are there differences between different batches?

Still waiting. Don't think it's left the building yet !

I somehow had one sitting in my basket when they were OOS, so I duly ordered :)
#33
Does anyone think these prices will fall more? I just wish ebuyer would drop their price, prefer nabbing it for circa £133.
#34
Might just wait a couple of more days and see if it pops up on Scans DOTD. Still have to decide which 680i mobo and which RAM to get, which is giving me a massive headache :(

I noticed ebuyer being sneaky, popular items having their prices upped.

I think this was on Scans DOTD a few days ago.I'm sure it was around £141 which made it no cheaper than Aria.

Motherboards are always a headache as there's little to choose between some. Last time I bought one for my P3 I spent weeks researching & in the end just bought one that had a good layout & write up. I must say it turned out to be an excellent purchase & a classic design :-D

The Crucial website is always good for Ram as it makes a match with your motherboard... Ram that I'm using myself & has never faultered.

However with many "new" kids on the block from the likes of Corsair & OCZ it probably is a little harder now.

Yeah, think it was about £142 if you get free delivery. Should show up on "Today Only" at some point this week. I'm not so sure about Aria now - have read a lot of negative reviews (slow delivery, bad CS), I'd rather pay the extra £3 and get it from Scan.
#37
Well mine's been dispatched today :) Since they send via City link it should arrive tomorrow as they guarrantee next day delivery. Ordered Sunday eve when they had no stock.
#38
That's good news :)
#39
Mine arrived today, cost £132.31 from ebuyer

:)

ash_100 could you check the batch code on it? (see post #30). thanks
