I think this is a good deal for this beer. The fact is though that some people on here will vote cold for whatever reason.

I recently posted that you can get 12 x 330ml bottles of Cusqueña imported beer for £8.30 at Waitrose and got zero interest, so that's how it goes.

why is this so cold?

Because warm beer tastes bad. It's best to be served cold.

From WIKI
"The reason for adding the lime is that hops compounds degrade when they come into contact with light. This reaction results in lightstruck beer that is particularly common in clear bottles, such as Corona's, that do not easily reflect light. This causes beer to smell 'skunky,' and the lime is used to mask this aroma."

Bit of a posers beer TBH, probably why the cold votes (but i have voted hot!!)

£8 for same offer in Tesco or was on Sunday... I fell lucky in that they were piced @ £8 i bought 2... it scanned at £10 each so customer services refunded me my £4 plus another £4 as its double the difference... so i paid £12 for 2 boxes

Good deal - paid £10 for 12 on Sunday in Tesco when it was on offer.

Personally I like this beer with some lime in the summer- its light, crisp and has a refreshing taste.

Probably voted cold normally because other good beers, like BECKS, can be picked up on offer for only 50p per bottle.

Oh and be careful with Makro - its cheaper yes, but the expiry dates are normally a lot shorter...been caught out before !

My favourite beer!

And I paid £10 for 12 bottles from Tesco on Sunday too.

I was always told that the lime was used as a 'cork'/stopper to prevent flys from entering your booz?

Thats what I think - only started drinking it when I left Univeristy because I had the cash to do so

voted hot.

propably a good time to disclose my technique for perfecting this beer at home.

a half hour before drinking, put one in the freezer to super chill it. When you take it out to drink, replace it with another.
Keep this cycle going for as long as you're drinking.

Oh, and double lime them

(careful: try not to leave one in the freezer overnight, I've made this maitake many's a time!) :-D

This is true.

In South America where the beer originates from the lime was used to clean the top of the bottle (bottle caps sometimes had rust) and then be used as a 'cork' to keep flys out.
Limes were used as they grow in abundance. They were not used to add flavour to your beer.

Sol and Corona - just like drinking cold urine. They got a nerve to call this beer.

take ya word for it. Exactly what made you decide to chill urine and drink it? did you use your own? or did you use various samples and a control in the study. Where was your data published? If you can prove this is true i'm gonna save myself a fortune! :whistling:

ps you cant compare sol and corona

I thought it was to stop the flies getting in the beer? It was only used as a stopper and now to flavour the beer in anyway?
