Corsair Value Select memory - 1GB - SODIMM 200-pin - DDR II
Storage Capacity: 1 GB
Technology: DDR II SDRAM
Form Factor: SO-DIMM 200-pin
Memory Speed: 533 MHz (PC2-4200)

I've added a 2m Cross-over cable £0.66 inc VAT so that the total is above £30 for £10 Google Checkout discount. So you can have the 1GB RAM with a 2m Cross-over cable (to connect PC-PC without a network for example) for only £22.75.

I couldn't find a better deal anywhere, even at Ebay.

Nice, very nice.

Just a note to all the mac owners out tehre.

This should fit a macbook, so it should mean you can get an incredibly cheap upgrade to 1 or 2 gig :P

IT should work on MacBooks, BUT since its running at the slower 533Mhz then it won't be as fast as if you use the 667Mhz version of the PC2-5300.

I'm not sure how it affects the pairing situation.... if you use a 533Mhz PC2-4200 with a 667Mhz PC2-5300. Shouldn't cause any big system failures though...
Sorry, I am not very techie - could anyone tell me if this would work in my vaio vgn a230? It has 1 1gb stiock and 1 256mb stick at the moment and I wondered if I could buy this ram and have 2 * 1gb sticks?
There're different serries of VAIO VGN-A230, but they would require PC2100 or PC2700 RAM only. So this RAM will not fit your laptop.
ok thats a shame. thanks for your help!
check with the crucial memory checker to see what ram it specs for your system before buying the RAM to double check whether it is compatible, if their configurator gives out the same specs as this, buy this instead :)

You need to look for DDR, this is DDRII - as per the previous poster, although Im just telling you why there is such a difference before anyone tells you it will clock down to those speeds.

Its a different type of memory.
Anyone got this yet? I got debited on 3rd May still waiting for it to ship:roll:
Mine has... well sort of :) only 1 half of the order has arrived, the cat5 cable came this morning 10th/5 in a ridicously sized box about 100 times bigger than the actual thing :/ i mean a jiffy bag could have done instead of a HUGE box.

The despatch note is faded like they ran out of ink in most places and has no mention of the Corsair memory (looks like a company called computer 2000) from the city link website it says scheduled delivery date: 10/05/07

Tracking History

So unless they forgot to pack the memory in the box i don't know or it could arrive tomorrow hopefully fingers crossed.
Ah sucks, the RAM for my laptop costs over double despite being slower and DDR333
Memory arrived this morning so i've ordered another stick :) just a bit stupid they couldn't have put both the cat5 cable and memory in the same package, anyway all's good and working fine on my fujitsu lappy.
