Bear in mind this is meant for i7 Socket/X58+ chipset motherboards that have triple channel memory AND will need 64bit operating system to be able to use all 6gb.

LOL! Methinks it's the trees that will be trading places with the Mighty Foxes!

As for this amount of RAM, please can someome tell me what use it is if you're using a 32 bit OS? As far as I understand it, anything over 3.5gb on a 32 bit OS is never seen or used.

Wow - great price for 6 gigs of DDR3

This is for Nehalem and 64-bit operating systems.

You can get 3x1GB for Nehalem and 32-Bit OS.

You're right, these are for 64 bit OS. Im assuming "harcore" pc gamers would be interested in this. I've built a computer myself, and now im tempted to buy a 64 bit OS so i could upgrade my ram.:-D
And it's DDR 3! Super fast.:-D

I have been using Vista Home Premium X64 since last August and its very nice.

I would recommend it.

But just to confirm that you know, your motherboard needs to support DDR3 to allow you to use it.

And also the speed increase is really neglible, you can't notice it. The only thing making it neccessary to buy is Intels new CoreI7 CPU's only support DDR3 which is a right pain.

Best price yet for great memory. Cant go wrong, thanks..

Find three people, buy 2 and split the price. You'll get 4gb RAM of this ram for the same price as ddr2 sticks.

Yeah but then one set wont be a matched pair, which can cause problems.

Find two people, buy two and split the price. Sell 4gb/12gb. You'll get 4gb of 'matched pairs' for the same price as ddr2 sticks ;o

That's always what happens when you invest in new tech early! :)

You didn't buy an SSD at the same time, did you? :p I'm hoping/expecting the latter will start to fall in price drastically over the next couple of months so I can get me one!

Yeah last month I paid £75 for some cheap 1066 Crucial DDR3.

I would have loved to have bought the Corsair at even £75.

£62 really is a bargain.

Also The cheapest for 4GB Corsair DDR2 is around £40, so at £20 per Gig this DDR3 is on a pricing of DDR2.

why are you obsessed with matched pairs?

nehalem uses triple channel memory, hence why most is now sold in packs of 3...

aww, missed out.
hopefully these prices will continue on ddr3

Crucial is good quality RAM. Apart from a little heatsink of very arguable use, this RAM is not a huge lot better than you Crucial RAM. It's just that Corsair market with pretty packages while Crucial RAM is quality RAM with no frills.

Corsair: DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333MHz), CAS 9-9-9-24, 1.50V
Crucial: DDR3 PC3-8500 (1066Mhz), CAS 7-7-7-20, 1.50V

Read the review: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=16598&page=1, it can reach much higher than 1066Mhz and with CAS7 you can afford to loosen the timing. Note that Corsair have reduced their voltage requirement to 1.50V which is a very good thing. Last time I looked at some Corsair memory, their voltage requirement was 1.65V which is the maximum that a Core i7 can support. you are better off with a bit lower voltage.

I paid £170 for this exact Ram from Scan in December... it's silly how quick it's dropped in price!

Bought another 6gb the same as this from Overclockers a couple of weeks ago (so now i'm up to 12gb! :) )

...they've had it for £63.99 for a few weeks now

It might be silly, but you have got to admit it is good news.

AMD's AM3 boards are all DDR3 now, and Core I7, and the upcoming Core I5 are DDR3 only now too.

£62 for 6GB DDR3 Corsair really is a price I thought it would take years to get that cheap. Good on Scan I say!
