I was looking for a decent usb stick for my xbox and I found this seems to be really fast for the money and yes it is abit more expensive then other 16gb drives but for the extra couple of quid you get much better performance. These are £30+ on amazon and play. Also these drives are very rugged and good quality

Corsair 16GB Voyager USB Flash drive is rugged, stylish, compact, reliable and exceptionally fast, making it ideal for transporting MP3s, digital images, presentations and more. With a data transfer rate up to 19MB/s, this drive is fully Hi-Speed USB 2.0 compliant and is backward compatible with USB 1.1. The drive also has data transfer read rates up to 33MB/s and write rates of 16 MB/s. It supports Plug and Play with many operating systems. Its durable rubber casing is easy to grip and water resistant.

Have the 8gb version and it's done me well, speeds seem really good (I don't know a huge amount about transfer speeds) and it's sure as hell rugged!

Yea I have a 4gb it lasted years I've even had games of football with it and theres not a scratch. Even the rubber loop has lasted and they usually break after a week.

I have a (tenously) related question. Anyone know of any good firewire (external/portable) hard disks offers right now? Hard to find cos it has to be Firewire.

Until you try to claim it, that is.

Where do you get the quoted read & write speeds from? Are speeds quoted from your own experience or obtained from a legitimate source? I've tried to find speeds for a variety of pens and can't. Would really like to be able to compare different manufacturers..

Honestly these are the best flash drives i have owned, I will be buying this at this price.

Corsair will replace this if you have any problems. I accidently damaged mine, went on the forums and ramguy (moderator) sent me a replacement form had mine replaced within a week.

Top customer service. same reason why I always buy logitech peripherals and corsair component.
#10
But does it work with the xbox, have you tested it yet? Because they don't always work, even if they are fast.
#11
I think any will work as long as there speeds are up to it. They just need to be formatted the right way thats my understanding of it anyway.
#12
This is a great drive when it works but when you need a replacement if it stops working you need to send it to the USA!!!!!!!!!!! Had a lot of valuable data when it stopped working.

Unfortunately there is no great brand when it comes to data sticks, the cheap and easy ones seem to be more hassle-free. Just had problems with the SanDisk Titanium U3 on Win7!

@thedynasty -whichmod did you speak to?

I had one of these and found the end got bent quite easily. Eventually died on me. Not much good for one which selling point is that its near indestructible (ish)
#14
great price but I already have 2x16gb and 1x8gb (corsair voyager the 8gb one) sticks
#15
Anybody know if this works for the 360? Also will it fit in the back usbs?
#16
The Flash Voyager GT is the faster version but this one is adequate for 20 squids

Used to be very expensive. Been using for a week and it wipes the floor with other models.

On my 3rd of these so far. First one came out of the rubber & sent it back. Second one only showed up as 3.9GB & so far haven't used the 3rd one much as I'm scared I'll break it. Have a Super Talent Pico on my keyring thats lasted me a hell of a lot longer than these...

Had the Corsair Voyager GT for a number of years, best flash drive I've ever bought and the fastest at 34MB/s Read and 21MB/s Write, it's been abused no stop and it still works.

Cheers for that. Just ordered. Let's hope it lives up to the advertised speed.

[I've returned my 7dayshop one bought last week, for a refund because it's slow/faulty]

For those who are interested, according to the results on this site, it does around 30.5MB/s sequential read and 7.5MB/s sequential write, formatted in NTFS.

Well, the speed certainly seem fine :) [GT model]

They quote write 19 Mbps read 25 Mbps.

Using the test program H2testw, mine results in 17.5 Mbps write and 29.1 Mbps read, formatted FAT32 as received, so I'm well pleased :)

These are terrible. So are most things from Corsair.
