This is not the cheapest 16GB USB pendrive available, but it does offer PERFORMANCE that nothing else can match at this price. Read speeds are >30MB/sec and writes are >16MB's. This is approximately 3-4x faster than the budget £10-£15 drives.

7DayShop are currently selling the 16GB version cheaper than the 8GB version, so grab it while you can.

wont' you have to pay tax + a fee from the post office since this over over £18?

Not worth the risk of it being stopped by customs.

I have purchased many items from 7dayshop over £18 and have never received a VAT invoice.

Edit: Just read the 7dayshop T&C's (easily available here), and all items over which are shipped to the UK include VAT. There will be additional cost.

The red GT version is much faster than this one.

Only £3 more from http://www.mymemory.co.uk/USB-Flash-Drives/Corsair/Corsair-16GB-GT-Rugged%2C-Water-%26-Shock-Resistant-USB-Flash-Drive

Read speeds are identical and wite speeds are 4MB's higher on the Red GT. The GT is also atleast 50% more expensive.

The GT is not 50% more here and the Voyager is just 59p more here for those who are concerned about additional costs.

Bollux!

Where are you getting your speed quotes from? Mine is 29.1 read and 17.5 write REAL WORLD.

And, just how is £3 '50% more expensive'?

No criticism of you, op, but I really don't know where 7dayshop get their specs from - I'm pretty sure they just make them up most of the time. Its not helped by the fact that Corsair don't publish read/write figures themselves, but these drives have been around for a while now and the actual speeds, from numerous tests and sources are around 8 to 10M/s write speed and 20-22Mb/s read speed, i.e nowhere near what 7dayshop claim. 7dayshop did exactly the same thing with their own brand 16Gb drives, claiming a write speed of 'up to 8.5Gb/s', when the actual speed was max. 3.8Gb/s on a good day!

Lots of reviews here confirming the tested speed for this Corsair drive:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233042

As I said, no criticism of you and these are good drives, but people shouldn't buy them expecting the write speed to be anywhere near 16Gb/s, it will be closer to half that and much closer to other drives costing substantially less.

I've got the red and the blue , the red one is definitely faster.

I agree with Faythur, the red version is quicker, but this is still worth it for the price.

I based my comments on the Trusted Reviews article here, but I now see that the Voyager Red GT 16GB version uses inferior parts to the 8GB version reviewed (and to the blue non-GT version). See this post from the official Corsair forums explaining why the GT is not such a good buy.

Is this fast enough to act as extra storage for Xbox360? If not can someone recommend a suitable 16gb drive for similar money?

yes it's ideal

I thought the ByteStor 16GB Dataferry was the champion of sub-20 quid drives - it's the same (or faster) speed for 3 quid less. Plus it's available at Amazon with free delivery and no import issues.

I've had a Dataferry for a while now and it pretty well all outperforms all the other USB sticks priced under 20 quid. I don't know why anyone would pick any other 16GB stick (unless they willing to spend over 20 quid) to be honest.

There is no way the non-GT is as fast as you (i.e. 7dayshop) say it is.

I bought this drive a few weeks for my xbox. Popped it in worked perfectly I have COD and battlefield installed on it. Although I think it only found 14 or so gb so that annoyed me abit.
