Gold tier PSUs offers more efficient usage of power compared to all but Platinum tier to save on power bills, this particular model is also very quiet when not under excessive load.

Very nice psu, heat.

Only 6 more than the 550w model. But too much of a premium for gold std. imo.

Fully modular's really nice. I've got a semi.

Having it fullly modular adds a cupla inches to the length.

It's not that exciting!

Showing as £94.50 now.

Why wouldn't you get the Corsair Builder Series CXM 750W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX/EPS PSU for £72.95 instead?

It still shows up on Amazon at £79.99 but 'usually dispatched within 2 - 5 weeks', which I guess is why the direct link shows £94.50. It has been £79.99 for a long time, now, still on Dabs at that price, though it has gone up to £95 on ebuyer. It's a very popular midrange PSU for it's power efficient passive design, which is to say like the more expensive HX i and AX i models, the fan only comes on when you are above 40% or so load, so in other words inaudible a lot of the time, which is a plus if you want a quiet(er) PC.

Don't buy Corsair. Awful company, unable to return and not even a telephone number to call. Crap customer service.

better off paying £10 more for the 750w anyway

Actually my 750 gold has just packed up. less than 7 days and 99% light use. played far cry on full settings twice

hopeless , avoid this junk

650w and below RM use better capacitors apparently, no issues with my 650W so far
