Great mechanical keyboard at a good price with brown cherry MX switches.

Price £84.24 if you choose to collect the keyboard at a local argos store, next cheapest is Ebuyer at £89.99.

The Corsair K70 is a fully mechanical, backlit keyboard that’s designed for performance gaming. The built-in Cherry MX Brown switches deliver fast and precise response with light tactile feedback for comfortable typing. Every key is individually lit for brilliant backlighting and easy customizability to highlight important functions. The brushed aluminum structure provides rugged durability and a professional-grade finish. Replaceable contoured keycaps make it easier to find critical WASD keys—even in dim light. Plus the Full N Key Roll-over on USB and 100% Anti-Ghosting mean that every key you touch translates directly into the game.

These are great keyboards, but the key caps themselves are cheap and nasty so I replaced them with double shots and now it is keyboard perfection, p.s I have a K65 with cherry reds.

price gone down recently? was out of stock £109+ past month. had amazon backordered with a £25 giftcard to make it £84, but with it taking so long (2-4 weeks, was due to dispatch this week) you've saved me £25 :p

also note this is the price on their site too, so if you have free delivery on Scan its cheaper (otherwise its cheaper on ebay)

Where'd you get your doubleshots from?

How I wish this is the black color version...
Went to a shop to try out a few different switches... Blue & Brown are very close to my preference, the blue clicky sound feels better, but not sure I would later get annoy with it... perhaps Brown is the one?

Brown feels like broken red to me. each to their own. Not a big fan of corsair mouse and keyboard though.

What's better, this or the QPAD MK-80 Pro Cherry MX Brown for £70?

Anyone know which one has the better, more comfy wrist rest?

I wish someone would come out with a padded wrist rest like you get on the MS comfort curve for a mechanical keyboard.

My keyboard of choice :)
Purchased one last year and have the black model with red switches.

Wish I had the chance to try all the switches first though. Perhaps I would prefer Cherry Brown? :|

Hoping to see more deals on Corsair keyboards/mice ahead of the release of the Cherry MX RGB models in August

Got mine a couple of days ago. It's not bad.

A few things I'm not a fan of though:
- the larger keys, rshift enter backspace etc, don't feel nice and responsive like the smaller ones, feels spongey and sounds rattley because they work differently underneath (but still have real switches)
- the lights on each key aren't even, for the letter keys it looks great but on all the dual function ones (top row of numbers etc) only the top half lights up. So you get ! " £ $ % all lit up, but the numbers not. Looks odd.
- cable and usb pass-through port are at the top middle, inconvinient place imo, but every maker seems to do this. I can't use the usb or push the keyboard back because thats where the base of my monitor is
- the caps/num/scroll lock lights are a bright white, not as bad as on some external usb drives, but once you notice it out the corner of your eye it can be annoying. On external drives I would put a bit of tape over it but on an expensive keyboard that would look naff.
- REALLY noisy! At least the brown switches are, and especially at night. Obviously everyone knows this about mechanicals but still, feels like i'm clacking away like an 80's secretary, haven't got used to it yet.

Other than that, looks really nice and feels really nice. The volume roller thing has come in very handy. I don't agree that the keycaps feel cheap, they're by far the highest quality i've ever felt, a lovely soft matte (granted i've only used rubber dome ~£30 keyboards before).

Great price for one of these, I have one at home. Would really like the RGB model as I'm not a fan of the red lighting, would prefer white back lighting.

You can solve this problem with the nyancat keycaps on OriginativeCo (~$32 plus international postage). I'm waiting for the K70 RGB so I can have scrolling rainbows behind the nyancat numrow, because I like to party.

I have browns in a different keyboard, best switches imo.

If mechanical switches are too noisey when you bottom the key out, put some orings under each keys.

would swap my k90 for this :(

Adding to my thoughts above...

I hadn't opened the sealed bag with those extra red curved/textured WASD keycaps yet, because I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep the keyboard or send it back.

Eventually I tried them out and I really like them. They don't get in the way of typing, and I don't want to go back to using normal wasd keys again (even though I had no problem with normal ones beforehand, and thought these things would be a useless gimmick). I'd recommend the keyboard more now I've used these extra keys.

Awesome!

Who needs the enter key anyway?

Edit: Managed to fix it with a pair of tweezers, a cocktail stick, and lots of sweating. The leg that broke off doesn't matter, I found some people actually remove them on purpose as a mod anyway. The lesson is don't ever remove the keys with stabilizers at an angle, only pull directly upwards, which is near impossible with the Enter key, but there you go. Btw I like the sound of the O-Rings but it doesn't feel as nice. Can't have everything.
