Ok thought id post this as it is just SO cheap.

This would be good for someone on a VERY tight budget.

This is available on a number of dates throughout May and June for example see below.

Ok flights would be with ryanair on 12th May returning on 19th from Stansted (other airports areBirmingham, Bournemouth, Bristal, East midlands, Glasgow and Luton available at same cost ) for this price you will need to pay with visa electron and pack your clothes into hand luggage ( It costs about an extra £30 to take hold luggage maybe you could take 1 between 4 and the rest have hand luggage)

Now to the accomodation - Eurocamp have 50% off sale at the moment so staying at the Park Playa Bara complex near to salou -
and staying in a Luxury tent - These tents are supurb - they have there own kitchen and seperate bedrooms WITH BEDS - The price for this is £112 for the week split this between 4 = £28 - you can also have a 2 bedroom mobile home if you dont fancy the tent this will cost £148 or £37 each

The flights cost £5 return each making £33 each for a weeks holiday (based on 4 sharing)

Now I know this isnt for everybody but would be great for those that just want a real budget getaway - I think it would be an adventure!

Also remember to factor in the cost of transfer to the camp too/from the airport.

Airport is 27km away so not too bad at all - split between 4 people you are probably talking an extra £5 per person each way

Quick question for sbfc where can I get a VISA ELECTRON?

I dont know - your bank? - You can book with another card but ryanair charge a fee per person so will just make it a little more expensive
#7
Heat left for effort - I think that there will be a lot of hidden extras you find you have to pay, card charges/transfers/luggage (realistically not many people will be able to pack a weeks worth ot luggage into their hand luggage).

But whichever way you look at it, this will be a cheap way of getting abroad for some people.

Thanks - Yes I have tried to list the hidden extras so they can be avoided - obviously the big one would be the luggage - Ryanair allow 10kg in hand luggage free which is not too bad but if you can share 1 hold suitcase between the 4 of you this would bring costs down - as for card charges pay with visa electron and there wont be any - also none for eurocamp if paying with debit card.

Also eurocamp is on quidco - 4% i think

Easycash account.

Hope this helps

Thanks. I will look into that. Specially as the other day I've got charge almost £10 in charges from LastMinute.com for 4 tickets.

To the OP thanks for the INFO, the link is quite nice and the accomodation looks quite nice.

Borrow a visa electron this time,.you won't need it when u travel so any kind relative who has one, just give them the cash......you can get one from Abbey, Nationwide and I think the Post Office.....

beginning of jue also a fiver say 2nd to 9th from stansted to reus.......

Heat added cos seems like a good deal.

Has anyone been to this camp (or 1 like it?)

Must admit "camping" does not appeal to me in the slightest but the kids are desperate to go aboad and with 5 it's not cheap, so am seriously thinking bout this!!

Do they do tents or mobile homes that sleep 7?
How would you get from the airport to the campsite and vice versa?

Hi thanks - I havent stayed in one but am about to in may myself (in Italy) these holidays are very popular do a little search on google there are plenty of reviews - try trip advisor.

It would be a taxi from the airport - Like I said before it is only 27km from the airport for would only cost about £20

The tent sleeps 5 (£112) - The 2 bedroom mobile home sleeps 6 (£148) and the 3 bed sleeps 8 (£274)

There is a regular coach from Reus Airport to Salou Cambrils La Pineda etc and they will collect you on your return. Taxi is alright for 4 people

fantastic for someone on a budget... went to Costa Dorada years ago & it was ok but I personally wouldnt go back..

I'm not going to vote, but I think you've missed out some key elements. It would be a miracle to get away without paying Ryanair more than £5! Don't forget booking fee, check in fee, luggage fee, etc. This can add £50+ per person.

Still, the accomodation does sound like a good deal.

Although I could be wrong about Ryanair, after all the Michael O'Sometyhingorother seems like a really nice WOW type!

I did try tripadvisor but found no actual reviews for the place?

If i was to go, they'd be 7 of us so i guess we'd need an 8 seater or maybe 2 taxi's.
Where did you get the £20 figure from? Is this a genuine figure, especially with the pound n euro the way they are?
I guess it'd be double for us as there's so many of us :(

h&r added, just shows what can be achieved with a little digging & perseverence, good job, gonna try something like this fer next year, cheers

You can get away without paying Ryanair more than £5 - I have done it few times and even paid 1p for some flights.

Pay with an electron card --> no booking fee.
Check-in online --> no check-in fee
Only take hand luggage, they allow 10kg -->no luggage fee.

Not the most convenient but easily doable from my experience.

we went to the sanguli site near salou last year & I would recommend this type of holiday to anyone with kids. So relaxing, no need to dress up every night to go out, kids LOVED it, mine are 6 & 3, & we took our 9 yr old neice too. these camps are spotless & very well run, with loads of stuff for the kids to do. We stayed in a 2 bedroom mobile home, but have also stayed in a supertent & loved it. Mobile home is easier on mum though!! Such a lovely laid back lifestyle, with loads of people from all over europe. Camps are very strict on noise after 12 too & have security that roam round. Hotel holidays for us come in at around £2k, whilst a camping abroad holidays costs around £900 all in for 1st sep. Is very pricey for school holidays tho.
HTH. Off to price up for this year as I am desperate to go & on a budget. have to say that even if I wasnt I much prefer this type of holiday as it gives ME more of a break!!

ps just check your transfer costs if you're flying as some sites are a fair way from the airport, our was only 6 miles from Reus & cost €35 each way in a taxi

I might be wrong, but haven't they just introduced a compulsory £5 booking fee per person per journey?

Also, online check in is now £5 per person per journey, just recently gone up.

It is possible to last a week on just hand luggage if you're a bloke, but how about the womenz!! :-D

I'm looking at booking a flight with them at the moment and the £5 return flights actually come to £45 each with all the other stuff.

there is def no compulsary £5 booking fee or online check in cost? Where did you see this? The cost of taking a suitcase is ridiculously expensive but 10kg is enough for me.

Does the £5 include airport taxes? They normally hike the price up a bit ..

There is definitely no compulsary £5 booking fee or online check in cost.

I have a woman too and three kids. If we take 10kg each this is 50kg in total, definitely more than enough - for us anyway. The deal with my wife was simple, you take anything more than 10kg you pay for it and queue up for airport check-in alone! - she sneaked some of her stuff into the kids bags though ;-)

It depends on the deal - some Ryanair deals have airport taxes included. I don't know how they do it but they do it ;-)

As I say, I'm looking at booking a flight at the moment:

http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/faqs.php?sect=CHARGES&view=email

There is definately a £5 fee for online check in, you will also see there is a 'payment handling fee' as well. I think these have both been introduced in the last month.

I just tried online now: online check in, no airport checked-in luggage, payment with visa electron NO FEES WHATSOEVER.

I have a screenshot but don't know how to attach it to the message, sorry!

The flights I have quoted include everything if you do it right.

Use electron - online check in - hand luggage only - also make sure you take off there travel insurance - it will come to £5 total per person return - I have just done it myself for Italy.

Ok cool!! I was just going by the list of fees on their website, if you're both sure, then I've just saved ££££s, nice!

WOW and yet more WOW!!!

When I was much younger (early teens) my Dad used to take us on these holidays as part of the one parent family group he was with....... We stayed in this camp with the tents but we had to travel there by coach and it was a horrific 48 hour drive each way stuck on a coach that smelt of sick and urine because of the other 50 people onboard

I remember the holiday being OK (apart from a 12inch thick metal railing getting impaled through my leg by the swimming pool - which I never got medical attention for) We enjoyed it because we were kids and had never left Manchester before so looking back now I am not sure I'd enjoy it so much.

Can't really argue if you are on a budget though and need a week in the Sun......

Not sure what they used to be like but Eurocamp holidays are always very nice - this one is 4* accomodation so cant really go wrong

Is there not some trick where you can use Ryanair gift vouchers to pay for the flights thus avoiding the credit card fee (I don't think you pay a fee whe buying the vouchers). This might be worth looking into instead of getting a visa electron.
#36
Have just booked Ryan Air returns to Pisa for £5 per person all in! Lovely jubbly!

Am also looking at the local Eurocamps as there are some really good deals, cheers for info.

All I can say is ....................... WOW!!!

Your previous posts really show your lack of understanding and inability to accept what you have been told.
You are so quick to post what you know nothing about and give false information to the readers of this thread...........I believe an apology is called for........................

I'm pretty sure if it was 12" thick it wouldn't impale in your leg. That would be like trying to impale yourself on a wheely bin....

1/2 inch ...just the forward slash missing?
#39
dcx_badass
Maybe, I like my idea better though....

You must be the person that would never have a forward slash in the swimming pool...

cool lookin into it
