The membership-only wholesaler Costco opened their first UK petrol station in Liverpool last week.
As of Friday, they sold the cheapest diesel in the country at 129.9p per litre, according to the Petrol Retailers Association.
The second cheapest diesel price was recorded here at Petrol Prices at 131.7p. Costco’s unleaded price was 126.9p, a fraction higher than the UK’s lowest.
Costco’s new forecourt beat both the diesel and unleaded prices of all their surrounding competitors, including Asda, Esso, and Sainsbury’s.

I paid 128.9 for my diesel in Nottingham. No special discount. Think it's spar garage.

Your station has been cheaper than this for diesel with no price change for 9 months?

Sounds believable!!!

Don't forget to collect your Star for bravery from Buckingham palace before coming to Liverpool next time.:p:p:p

This has taken them a long time, I wonder why they haven't opened their gasoline stations in the UK before now.

Is their fuel branded 'Kirkland Signature' in Liverpool... Kirkland Signature

They also operate a massive holiday Travel agency in the US, which will no doubt be heading our way soon. ;)

it opened last week, someone who's been once has told you it's called 'premium diesel' (like all suppliers) - i wouldn't say that's a guarantee on quality. not saying it isn't, but surely you need a report after a while of running it on mpg, performance and any increased wear on fuel related parts, not 'i bought some and they told me it was good'.

It will meet UK minimum standards the same as the supermarket stuff so will be fine, unless your car needs performance fuel (unlikely for a diesel??)

Come now, I purposely said I couldn't comment on the quality, or otherwise, Just pointed out that the premium diesel label couldn't be taken to mean that Costco were offering quality over and above the supermarkets (who all offer 'premium'). As DannyMc says above, it will at a minimum be adequate (and may turn out to be outstanding) so the price and deal (to those who can get it) is good.

initial thoughts on MPG and performance could be given after 2-3 tanks, so someone who can get it could easily give an answer soon (Queeny won't give me my star, so I can't head up there ;) ) but I'll admit wear and tear is not immediately apparent, though is of a lot of concern to some who got large bills from using supermarket fuel allegedly.

'delux', 'premium' etc etc. have no qualitative meaning when comparing two products i.e supermarket and Costco fuel as per the question. But then, I couldn't tell from your post if you knew that and were just being sarcastic to Willogs (smileys are sometimes ambiguous)?
