ContourHD is the worlds first High Definition wearable camcorder that combines amazing video clarity (choose between High Definition or High Action), a wide-angle lens (135 degrees), single-button simplicity, and a click to share online experience.

At the end of the day it can be placed anywhere using different mounts.

Hot deal, well done Marbler:thumbsup:
#12
hot from me as well. These are great cameras, i use it for snowboarding. They are around $300 in US where i picked my one up from and when they first came over were almost parity.

So this has come down a lot and well worth purchasing if u need a decent HD camera on the move.

The only issue is the battery life sadly, especially in cold conditions.

Think the cam is too big for most people....

The camera has 1080p on the side of it yet only does 720 as per your post :?
#15
good deal, im looking for a cam but to strap the bike and came across this before but its a bit too big. If I had this on my motorcycle helmet the cops will pull me over along with "evidence" footage I shot myself.

I guess the people who are voting cold are the boring people that have nothing to record in their life apart from sitting on the computing clicking away. lol fat people.

Good deal if you are an active person and have something worth recording.

Hot for price.

They now make 1080p version that's much more expensive, looks the same bar the 1080p wording.

what is the battery life like in the cold? out on the slopes would be the most ideal place for this sort of thing, tempting too!

It claims 3hr battery , which imo isn't that great to start with, but high altitude and cold weather reduced it to around 2hrs.

It can become an expensive/time consuming exercise as you can buy spare batteries, but need to buy the mains charger if you want to charge simultaneously.

For these you also need a big card, as it's 30mins of 720 per GB. For the 1080 version it's 15mins per GB :-O

When u're up a mountain with all ur gear on, it's a pain swapping everything around, BUT and the big but is imo, totally worth it. I've shot some amazing footage, and well worth all the hassle.

It's also particular good if you skydive, some very funny footage i've shot with that. It just helps preserve the memories.

Just when I was thinking of how cool it would be to record first-person cycling footage...

A bit too expensive though. This thing is more for extreme sports. I'm sure I could find a way to mount something cheaper.

Wow, thanks. For £15 you can't go wrong. I actually have a Kodak Zx1 but I wouldn't know how to mount it properly. I'm not sure if this will have the proper accessories to do so with it? Like the Zx1 however, it seems to lack a stabiliser, thus the bike footage will be shaky. For the price I can't complain however.

This and the GoPro Helmet hero are probably the two best helmet camera's in the market today(in their price bracket). You get what you pay for and although you can spend £100 on a Oregon Scientific ATC3k the video quality is no where near as good. The 'laser' sights for lining up your shot is an excellent feature. HOT deal and rep added. Just wish I had the cash to buy one. More people need to see how bad I am on a snowboard :)

Get yourself some double sided sticky foam pads and a couple of cable ties. Job done.

Fantastic camera, don't waste your time and money on cheaper options they don't come close to the qualiy of this. we do mountain biking and its great, robust and lightweight. Great price too.

Looking at the 2 comparison vids above in full screen, they do come pretty close.

Absolutely smashing camera, it's 50 quid to upgrade to the 1080p version if you think you'll actually use it!

Great price too :)
#35
I have the 1080 version and a mate has the 720 version. Not too much in it, if you have the extra money then go for hte 1080, but if I had the choice to buy again after seeing the comparison I would have gone with the 720.

Sucker mount which is available seperately is very strong and highly recommended.

Sound isnt the best, too much wind noise when using for motorsports, mods can be done to fix this.

All in all great cam for sports to post vids online, although you wouldnt use this as a video camera to record family vids as quality is not good enough. Hope that helps someone.
#36
No thanks, I will stick to my £13 camera.....

I have four of them and can't fault the value for money. If I was paying this amount I would need a view finder, playback function, Clear lights that indicated function, decent software and a bang on the head.
p.s. not voted as have no idea if this is a good deal for this specific item.

Reasonable price, but I believe that this is the better camera:
http://www.goprocamera.com

I bought mine from an American supplier on eBay for £185 inc postage.

Slightly biased because i've got one, but what a Camera. Videos look so professional and slick due to the full HD 1080p resolution, and the wider angle range of 170 degrees @ 720p, giving a 'fish-eye' appearance, but without totally distorting the image. Colours are also brighter and sharper, than the Contour and audio quality is far superior at speed than the Contour.
The Choice of mounts with the GOPRO Motor sport edition are excellent, allowing you to film with it attached to anything at any angle with minimal vibration and maximum confidence that it won't fall off!

GO FOR THE GOPRO HD HERO You won't be disappointed!!

One suggestion for mounting the Zx1 to a bike:

I've seen plenty of cyclists in the city using these cameras; guessing when they get knocked off by some clown in a cab you have video proof for plod.

Great deal
