Craghoppers mens shirt - available in small, medium and Large in Dark Brown on the Craghoppers site. This is a really good shirt. I got some for my husband for Christmas and they wash and wear beautifully.

This was recently posted for Debenhams for £15 and has since expired so thought I would put this on

there are loads of clearance bargains with up to 80% off. The quality of these items is really good

Oh, I almost forgot you get 5% Quidco with Craghoppers too.... there is also a 10% off code CD99 but not sure if you need to spend £30 for that...

6% with QuidCo
- Dave

I just ordered some things and used the CN10 code kindly provided by 1982John below and it gave free delivery and a further 10%off...Brilliant thanks

I quite like synthetic in outdoor clothes as they dry quicker, I'm puzzled too.

Thanks. Was considering this but not if it's nylon. Only like cotton. Hot tho.

Code CN10 definitely gives extra 10% and free delivery. I just used it about an hour ago so £12.50 became £11.25 delivered.

a note on this - its a slightly tighter fit than other craghoppers shirts - I shoudl probably have gone for a Large, wheras my kiwi size medium shirt fits perfect

If you don't mind me asking what size chest are you, with the medium how do you find the arm length compared to your kiwi's? Their sizing says small 38, medium 40, large 42

crap! I just ordered a medium! I really hope it fits, or its down to the gym for me!

I might order a large anyways...

Ordered a large. Hopefully Medium will be ok, and Large just a larger (i.e. looser) fit. If Medium is too small I'll flog it to my brother...

I'm 6ft and a 38 to 40" so was going to go for a Medium too (arm length is a bit of a concern), I don't like baggy stuff while hiking though.

Just preference. Cotton is nice against the skin, nylon isn't, especially in hot weather. Cotton usually absorbent, nylon usually not.

Hi -
Just a quick word in defence of the synthetic fabric. Agreed totally that they may not feel so good next to the skin as natural fabrics but if you are going to an environment where you are going to do some serious sweating, you may find that cotton gets wet and soggy quite quickly. The idea behind the modern synthetics is that they retain no moisture but wick it to the surface where it can evaporate. They also wash and dry very quickly. A good example of this is the HH Lifa bottom layer. If you need a proper working expedition shirt, then I'd tend to go for synthetic every time. Horses for courses, as they say.

Sorry, but this isn't correct. I have several of these and have used them in very hot and humid situations which is exactly what they are designed for, I bought several last year for around £10 each. I wore mine when in the rain forest in Panama last year and didn't get any bites. It was great for the heat as well. I certainly sweated less and when I got wet it dried very quickly. Cotton is far less comfortable in that sort of climate and gets wet and sticky. The large map/document pocket on some styles is very useful.

Best hot weather, cover up shirts I have ever had. I have no problem with the sizing and just buy my normal size.

Cheers for the info, what chest size are you, what CragHopper size did you go for?
#33
I'm a 38" chest and buy a small size in all Craghoppers tops/shirts. Sleeves are always too long, but that's the case with all my shirts.

Worth having a look at the Debenham's website as well as they often have Craghoppers gear on offer and there is usually a code knocking about too. Worth comparing both sites before you buy - sometimes one is cheaper, sometimes the other.

Thanks OP, heat added.

Ordered the shirt and some mosi-repellent trousers for me and a short-sleeved shirt, a pair of trousers and a pair of convertible trousers for the gf.

Code CN10 was an extra bonus.

Ordered. Heat and rep added. Thanks

Insect repellent? Is this for real? I've always found most midges go for my hands, face, legs and any other exposed parts...there aren't that many which will nip you thru' a good shirt. And what what sort of lovely chemicals have been used to impregnate this shirt?

Would certainly buy if it wasn't repellent.

Incorrect about the very sweaty.. Wearing cotton in a hot climate as you suggest would be like wrapping youself in blotting paper. You'd just get all soggy, damp and start to smell bad pretty fast. This is not 'plastic' or 'nylon'. It's a modern synthetic - literally made to do a job.
