Sorry if this has already been put up. I did search, but came across nothing. I went to Tesco yesterday and it wasn't advertised, and I went today and it was so I'm assuming it's a new deal that commenced today for this week.

Basically, as the title says, if you spend £30 you can pick up one of the following for an awesome £5. I know they've done it before with just Carlsberg, or just Becks, now you have a choice of 3:

Becks (275ml x 18)
Stella Artois (284ml x 20)
Strongbow (440ml x 15)

I can't find this online on Tesco.com - if someone else does though let me know.

Please note that when you spend £30 you get a £5 'Becks/Stella/Strongbow' voucher for your next purchase, so its not instantly redeemable.

Cheers buddy, that would explain why I saw an extra receipt voucher hanging out of the till for the guy who'd spent £30+ in front of me. I didn't get one cos I didn't spend £30 today, but I will be in the week, don't you worry :P Haha!

Info = updated

Could always go straight back in and get a box for a fiver

anyone got any idea if I will still beable to do this online in Scotland from tomorrow?!

We have new licencing laws which prevent deals on alcohol like this from being in store (they can't even display alcohol at the front of shops) but I don't know if I would still be able to do it online?

I guess the obvious answer is stock up today

I think you will be okay in Scotland. The word from my Tesco, is that the offers will need to be cleared by the Legal Team at head office, but there isn't much in the new legislation that the offers can't get round - they haven't actually brought in minimum pricing for instance. The main difference is alcohol will only be found in the alcohol section of the store and nowhere else.

Mmmmmm.... nice :-)

Just take someone with you when you get the voucher hand it to your mate (with the beer in his hand) and let them pay for it :-D

Cheers bud. Just in time for my weekly shop! Worth a trip to Tesco.
Love the Tags by the way. LOL.. H&R added.

As above - you get the voucher after spending £30 in one transaction so just keep the beer in the trolley and use the voucher as soon as you get it to pay for the beer.

Have just done this in our local Tesco with no problem - initially I thought it was like the old offer when the £5 was taken off your shop but the checkout lady had to refund my beer then resell it to me on a seperate transaction when I questioned if it had gone through at £5.

Hot deal! Heat Added!

I was in Tesco (St. Rollox, Glasgow) on Sat 22/08 and they had a similar offer... didn't use a voucher and it went through correctly in a single transaction (I checked the receipt).

Funny thing was that I'd only went in for a few things for dinner that night, but bought a £22.00 bottle of Jura to get my beer for a fiver lol!

just tried to use my voucher at tesco kingston park newcastle, the girl at the till said it doesnt start till tomorrow

Tesco deal voted hot!

such a rip off considering it was spend £30 and get one of those cases for a fiver, no voucher or anything needed. Now it has been changed to you have to come back again and then you get your next case for £5
#22
I would imagine the amount of refunds that the previous offers resulted in have probably factored into this decision to change it. Loads of people were not getting the discount as it was manual, at least this way everyone will get the offer price, and you can just put the beer through separately. Hot deal imo.

There's absolutely no difference - you're paying exactly the same and getting the beer for £5. You just have to do it in two transactions - that costs no extra!

actually it isnt, because you have to spend £30 then get a voucher then go back and buy the case, rather than spend £30 and get it for £5 all in one go. Which ends up more repetitive, a lot of tescos dont do it this new way, ive been shopping at borehamwood tesco and they do it the other way, while watford gives the voucher and said that borehamwood is doing it all wrong.

No, previous offers were that you got it off at the time...All Tesco stores in GB did it this way. Tesco centrally have changed the offer, so now all stores will issue vouchers. There will be no way stores deviate from this policy...so I don't know how you can be saying some stores will still just deduct it off at the time because they can't. (If that is what you were meaning).

Well this was the rule that quite a few tescos followed, so i dont know, at the end of the day, its a shame tesco didnt extend the range of beers to that offer. Cant complain about 18 bottles of becks for a fiver though.

Is this offer still going? How long do you have to redeem the voucher? Do you still get a voucher when you shop online?
#31
Was in my Tesco 'Home' store (Bracknell)yesterday and they had a pile of vouchers on top of the beer displayed at the front of the store saying get any pack for £5.No mention of spending £30 in the T&C's on the back of the coupon.

My local Inverness Tesco on the retail park had a whole mountain of cheap price booze stacked up just as I walked through the door lol. Don't know which stores you go to.

My girlfriend works at Tesco (customer services) so i know quite a lot about this offer. The offer ends on the Sunday 13th September but the voucher is still valid until the Wednesday 16th September. The reason they have brought in the vouchers is because a lot of the cashiers wern't taking the offer off manually at the tills, so customers were having to get a refund at customer services to get it for £5. You can use the voucher on your next shop or straight away, it doesn't state in the terms and conditions. Hope this helps :)
#36
To Scunny & Bookie thanks to you both for for the replies.
#37
Just been to tesco's and spent £90 so split my shopping and paid in 3 lots to get 3 vouchers. Then went back and got 3 crates and as it came to £30 before the vouchers were taken off the till printed another voucher. So I guess you can use your double points on things like wine and aslong as it comes to £30 before you use your money off voucher you will get a £5 beer voucher.....bonus!
#38
Just had to have another look at the blonde. Be back later for another peep too. :p
#39
Would there be anything stopping you buying something for £30, then returning it for a refund & keeping the voucher?
#40
Heat added for the blonde with the beer
