After listening was disappointed with sound quality.Sound is the same as £10-ish speakers.

at this money you're almost into budget powered monitor prices.. consider those also if you have the space. e.g. M-audio AV series perhaps.
#3
heat added, (shame it doesn't have a remote control),but best price on the market.

hmmm, was considering these for my imac.

I've budgeted £100 for a set of new speakers. Any other recommendations?

Why not post some useful ideas of £10-ish speakers of similar quality then?

Review - 10/10

Sound quality is most important in speakers, not speakers by itself! And sound quality of these-absolute RUBBISH!!! Buy yourself and test them...next day you will be back for refund.

I'm with you op! These are fantastic for the price. Got some T20's for just under 50 quid a couple of years back and was amazed by the sound.
The T40's are meant to have greater range, however at the expense of bass.

I can vouch for the T20's as being absolutely stunning. Reading the review you linked to above, the T40's follow on from there.

T10's are also very good for around 30 quid. Although quieter, obviously!

I had T40 a few years ago, they not as good as AV but are the best 2.0 PC speakers you can get for under £100 in the market.
I would say don't judge them until you have a few hours on them. Use them for normal listening and in time they will mellow to their true selves.

Great price for these. Pleased with the T20's in the kitchen listening to internet radio at 128kbs. No, they are not of audiophile quality but as most people listen to mp3 compressed music then it isn't really going to matter. Oh and far better than my £10 ones.

i have these speakers and i think they sound great, don't know what that other guy is whining for.

they don't sound like £10 speakers at all, in fact my brother has some crap £10 speakers so i have checked the difference.

i used these for my Xbox games, watching movies on my PC and listening to music.

As for listening to music, the sound is nice and clear after you place the treble up to full, the bass i'm not into that so mine is around 30%, but you can place it midway at 50% without distorting the audio crispness, after that it is noticeable.

but anyway it has 2 inputs, so i used to have my xbox and pc audio plugged in to this.

soon i'll have it plugged to a TV i ordered via the headphone socket, but if you have a TV with an RCA Audio Output you can use this 3.5mm to RCA Adapter that comes with the speakers to connect the RCA to the speakers input (like i did with my xbox).
