Only until the 8th of April, get £15 cashback when you buy the Creative Gigaworks T20 speakers! Price of £42.04 includes cashback.

Read the cashback form (bottom of post just above description) as receipt, etc need to be sent within 15 days!

Scan also off this set of speakers ( http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=342749 ) , but are currently out of stock.

Amazon offer the speakers for 56.11 here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/o/ASIN/B000EGAB5E/ref=s9_asin_image_1/026-9756106-2825269
But there is no mention of cashback... could risk it if you want!
The £49 (plus £6 p&p) pound price is from the amazon marketplace seller pixmania_uk, but again, not sure on cashback validity - i chose to spend the extra 2 pounds at Ebuyers to be safe, as they advertise cashback.

Cashback form: http://www.scan.co.uk/ProductPDFs/Creative/Cashback/13095_cash.pdf
(from scan, same as ebuyer's form, but far better quality)

Enjoy!

Don't forget Quidco @ 1.5%.
If you want to risk it, you can get it for as low as £40 delivered (then 60p off from Quidco too). But, i bought from Ebuyers just to make sure (plus they have lots of cheap cables i wanted to get using free del with the speakers).

I've got a pair of these which I got in December 06', they sound fantastic. Even though they are only 2.0 speakers there really is no need for a sub because the bass is so good as it is.

Glad to hear that - i look forward to using them! I currently have a set of pretty good Altec Lansing 5.1's (£100+) but, they are such a pain to unpack everytime I go back to uni as i can barely lift the sub which is bigger than my PC case! The bass from that system is actually too strong for my moderately sized room (makes the furniture resonate like crazy) so hoping that this is a good compromise between size and sound!

Just received speakers today - yet to claim cashback, but I must say they are fantastic, even more so at the cashback price! The speakers are definately better quality than the individual ones in my 5.1 Altec Lansng system (cost over £100 so they are a decent set) but obviously I lose the surround sound. For listening to music they are excellent and well balanced, obviously not the earth shattering bass of my 200W surround system but they are much smaller, which is what i was going for.

Overall 5 out of 5 from me - was not expecting them to be so good! Tempted to get this while the £15 cashback offer is still on!

I bought these speakers a few weeks before Christmas for £59.99 from Amazon and thought that they were good value for money then in terms of sound quality, style and quality of build. Although they lack a separate subwoofer, the bass is wonderfully accurate, warm and punchy enough to fill a medium sized room. As for the rest of the sound, it's clear, precise and sounds great, even at higher volumes (although best results occur when listening to the speakers between about 30 -70% volume, which is plenty loud enough!). Only slight problem was that I had to re-rip some of the CDs I'd 'ripped' at relatively low bitrates (64kbps), because it showed up the indiscrepancies in the sound!

Anyhows, I'd highly reccommend them, especially now that they're at such a low price - bargain! :)

Anyone think these are better than a Creature setup?

Just got email confirmation that they have received and are processing my cashback. Will hopefully get it soon! Hurry if you want to get the £15 off, as offer only runs until 8th April!

Cool - thats a good price for those, but the T20 speakers are in a different league in terms of sound quality and also size. People who go for these usually like the fact that there is no subwoofer - i certainly do - saves me unpacking the 10kg giant subwoofer from my 200W 5.1 altec lansing system every time I go to uni!

Sure I can understand that different products for different needs, great for music the speakers above no doubt these are probably better for dvd's, DIVX's with ac3 sound etc
#13
the 5.1s would they need a soundcard?
#14
I am using the inbuilt sound on the motherbaord with supports 7.1 (realtek high definition sound) Gigabyte 965P-DS4

Only problem I had was with winamp getting 5.1 sound but messing about with options sorted that out although in fairness music isnt 5.1

Thats true - you can't beat 5.1's for thundering bass and directional sound in movies, but for music the Creative givaworks T20s will reproduce more accurate sounds. I do miss feeling the bass with my 5.1 system, but really can't be bothered to unpack it till I move somewhere more permanant.
#16
shrek how do i check what soundcard i have and whether it would support it?

I realised I'm not shrek, but the easiest way would be to look behind your computer and see how many plug holes you have (follow the lead from your current speaker). 5.1's will need 3 output ones (so not including microphone and line in). If you only have 1, then that means you currently only have a soundcard capable of 2.1 sound at most, and would need to get a new sound card in order to use 5.1 speakers. An excellent sound card, if you require, is the creative x-fi and can be had for as little as around £25 (+p&p). Its capable of 7.1 sound if required!

just ordered a pair of these from amazon @ 49.99 inc free delivery

did any of the people on this thread buy from amazon and still manage the cashback ? I can't see why it wouldn't work ?

many thanks ,Mark.

Well, got my £15 cash back, although it is allegedly for buying Corel Draw... so that's what they meant by Creative cashback!

The letter is headed Corel and says:
"Thank you for participating in this Corel Draw Cashback.
Attached your cashback cheque for £15.00.
We hope that you will look forward to future promotions from Corel.
Yours sincerely,
Corel"

How strange, eh!

I got mine at ebuyer as they weren't as cheap at amazon when I bought them. I'd go for Amazon now though - no reason why cashback wouldn't work from them - hopefully!

Good luck and enjoy your speakers - they will be well nice!
#22
are these better then Altec Lansiing 40W 2.1 speakers.
#23
well mine arrived today - and they are great - only problem is that they are not totally magnetically shielded - well the right one is - but the left one isn't (the one with the electronics in it) - even after 1/2 a day - its leaving a light but noticeable patch on my 21 inch CRT monitor :(

Mark.
