It's not being sold by Amazon .....it's being sold by a Marketplace Seller which is against the T&C's of the HUKD Forums.

Expired & Spammed !

UPDATE :

Link has been sorted ...it now comes from Amazon Jersey !
#3
Youve clicked through the cheapest price available and you havent actually bought them from amazon, but from an independent seller through amazon market place.

If you look on the right hand side of the page you'll see that they are available from amazon for the price the OP has posted.

Good phones at a great price, hot from me.

As per my previous post, I think you should have looked at the page properly. Not the OP's fault the way amazon set out their site, although a line in the post to explain how to get the price might have helped.

Why isnt there an unexpired button?

This is the link to use to get the product without a Marketplace seller pre-selected:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009G6FQI/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Hope this helps.

Just checked & The Deal ink is okay, it's the same one posted by < Ajibee >. I don't know if OP has amended link or possibly getting confused difference in marketplace & preferred sellers ?

Anyway current deal link is fine - goes to a preferred merchant & offered with Amazon SuperSaver Delivery & not a Marketplace Seller.

Thanks

Thank you to whoever it was that fixed this.

Is amazon going crazy? What's a prefered merchant? It is not amazon because the T&C of the third party seller apply to this deal. With so many fakes of these headphones around, I'd stay clear of this deal.
#9
Too bad, already ordered mine with FREE delivery. Hopefully they are the real thing????
#10
Damn. I bought my headphones when I saw the price at £6.52 on this deal http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/268551/creative-labs-ep-630-a-earphones-6-/

I wish I had waited and saved some money!!!! :p

Hot from me!

Mine were delivered by Indigostarfish.com. The preferred seller. The headphones are legit....they work great.

i bought two pairs of these from Amazon (not marketplace) a few months ago and they sound terrible.. maybe they were fake, but i wouldn't buy again even at this price.
I have Sennheiser CX300 (which have been my favourite headphones for a year or so) so was able to do back to back comparison on the same mp3 players, and these Creative ones have no bass whatsover, whereas the Sennheisers have superb bass. its night and day difference. be warned, they might look the same but they really really aren't!

I see CX300 for is 17.99 at play
http://www.play.com/Search.aspx?searchtype=ELEC&searchstring=cx+300&page=search&pa=search&go.x=0&go.y=0
anyone do better than that for a trusted seller?

unfortunately you get what you pay for with these.. on the Creative's no bass whatsover.. unless like i said, maybe Amazon sent me fake ones?

i am confused why the creatives ep630 get good reviews.. has anyone else compared them back to back with CX300?

How would you know if they were fake?

Indigo Starfish is an Amazon company, IIRC
#16
Indigo Starfish is Amazon's Jersey partner - when the States of Jersey government got antsy about all the big retailers dashing to take advantage of the ability to sell items from Jersey for under £18 free of VAT they effectively banned outside companies from setting up on Jersey for this purpose - at this point Amazon Jersey disappeared and Indigo Starfish appeared as Amazon's Jersey partner. To all intents and purposes they are Amazon. Hope this helps.

I got these last time around from Indigo starfish 7 they are really very good. I use them with my K850i phone & the bass they deliver is a world away compared to the Sony in earphones which you get with the walkman range. Dunno about the new ones that ship with the W902 though, these look very similar to them. So, in a nutshell, can definately recommend these for the price they're at:thumbsup:

I refuse to trust anyone on Amazon after an ordeal with a pair of headphones a year or so ago, they were fake and not in the box with all the accessories like it said they were gonna be, and i could hardly give someone their birthday present in a little plastic bag.

I used to always get these headphones but i find after about 4-6 months, one ear or both will just stop working. Up untill then though they were good.

I'm guessing you bought from an Amazon Marketplace seller.

A good question. The box looked good. The quality is good, nothing to suspect they are fake. Also I wouldn't expect Amazon to put it's name behind fake goods.

yeah i think the Sennheisers are well worth about double the creative's.. and i don't think my ep630s were fake either, they were boxed and looked well made.. and like i said, from amazon themselves.. partly why i was so surprised how poor they sounded.

although, you need to beware fake CX300s just as much as fake creatives.. probably more likely given the branding!

the new EP830 might be a contender too (£13.99):

but havent tried these

in-ear piece is good, but I would recommend do not wear all the time as it might feel a bit uncomfortable after 30 mins or less... Somehow, for the price, it is still a bargain :)
#24
i wear these for almost all of 12 hour flights and find them very comfortable (they block background noise)
#25
I don't get it... the price on the website is £6.52 instead of £6.28. The voucher attached is for SHOES only!!!

So the Jersey Government wasted time and money creating a pseudo-law that can easily be circumvented? Great. Well done Jersey. You FAIL.

When I looked at this earlier it was £6.28. However it does seem to show a higher price.

I had my first pair of these around from Amazon about 3 years ago and got a second a few months later. I think I paid around 13 quid and was delighted with the sound and isolation, particularly the bass. Unfortunately one of my kids stepped on one ear of them and I had to get a replacement pair from Amazon. As soon as tried the replacements, the difference was absolutely obvious; shrill and bass-light, completely different. My original pairs had smooth plastic on the main housing and the replacements were textured when scratched with a fingernail. I contacted Amazon and told them I was pretty sure that these were fakes. They replied that they were confident that they were kosher. I've currently got some Goldring GX200s with Comply foam tips which are terrific though starting to split. My wife needed some cheapo phones about 6 months ago so I grabbed some EP-630s from Amazon for her; same textured housing, same **** sound.
#29
thanks ffooky, that would explain it.. these used to be good, now they're sh*t (and cheap, maybe a connection!)
i hope sennheiser CX300 are still good seeing as they're quite possibly made by the same company (but obviously, with different internals).
edit: actually probably not even same factory, sizes and materials all different.
#30
it sounds really gud but i have samsung e900, i cant use these, huh!!!!

I already got these from Amazon the last time they were £6 something.

The bass on these is unbelievable.
#33
These are the same ones you get with the Dell XPS, good sound, best headphones Ive ever owned but then the last pair before these were those fluffy ones.
#34
Are we sure these are legit boys and girls, very intrigued into buying these.
Cheers anyway:)

I have the CX300s, the EP-630s and the EP-830s. It sounds like you have fakes. Even Amazon can get scammed. Send them back. The bass on the EP-630s is the first thing you notice. The Sennheisers have next to no bass by comparison and almost sound tinny coming straight from the Creatives.

I bought these last time around - they are very good value for money. I am an audiophile, but enjoy the convenience of mp3 and for mp3 these are very very acceptable. In fact these outperfom the limitations of mp3 tracks, you only notice the lack lustre sound quality when you compare them to EXPENSIVE high end headphones with CD's.

You can do a lot worse with more money.

The key to good bass was pointed out by "Copperface" so I have taken the liberty and copied his fitting instructions below:

How do you fit them.
Well first of all try the various sizes of rubber earbuds until you find the right size for your ear. It took me several goes.
When fitting try the following;
Take your left hand over your head to grab top of your right ear with the left hand's fingers.
Pull the top of right ear up to open up your ear canal
Put your ear phone in while you hold up your ear as above.
While you hold in the ear phone, let go the ear held by left fingers.
Keep pressing the earphone in place with your right hand for a few seconds to let everything settle down as this help the ear "grip" the earphone bud and hold it in place
Do the same thing for the other side .... just use the right hand over the head instead..
If its a good fit you can tell as if you tap the earphone (gently) it feels as if the noise is inside your head. You need to get a good seal to give the right sound with decent bass.
I thought I was fairly intelligent but it took a search on the internet to find these instructions (they're not mine then). Now fitted correctly I'm very impressed.

Can somebody with a good-sounding pair tell me whether they have a completely smooth housing or whether they feel textured if you scratch them with your fingernail ?

Mine sound good. The housing has a smooth (soft sheen) finish - not mirror smooth but quite smooth!

Why do you ask?

Check my earlier post in this thread. The difference between my first pairs and my latter ones was really so apparent that I'd have to say that either Creative farm out production to manufacturers of vastly differing quality or Amazon have been (unknowingly ?) knocking out very convincingly-packaged fakes along with the real deals. A real shame as the good ones would be an absolute steal at this price.
