These are sold by Lime Pint not Amazon. Are they reputable or dodgy like the Play ones?

So you bought from Indigostarfish ('Jersey's Amazon Merchant')? Don't Amazon actually sell stuff themselves anymore? Does buying from Indigostarfish guarantee that the headphones are the real thing? Honestly not sure how the whole thing works.

My Sennheiser CX-300s have just conked out on me....would these be a suitable enough replacement?

Btw, now at £7.61....lol.
#11
Decent earphones but quite fragile. Mine lasted just over a year before one side stopped working. RRP £24.99?! only a complete mug would pay that.
#12
Damn u hotukdeals....i already have 8 pairs of headphones lying around the house, why have u made me buy another??!

Agreed, but I don't think I've managed to buy any earphones like this that have lasted much longer than a year. Anything under £10 is reasonable enough for me but I've completely given up on more expensive ones.

The ones listed on the page when it loads are Lime Pint but if you look under the buying option you'll see ones sold by amazon as well.

The rumour mill has, for years, said that these may just be CX300s with a different badge. Some say that the innards are slightly lower in quality. Either way, if you've just lost some CX300s, then these are a bargain as a replacement.

To all intents and purposes, indigostarfish is a replacement for the old Amazon Jersey, which they used to avoid paying VAT on things (no VAT in Jersey, and we're allowed to import stuff worth less than £18 without paying it ourselves). I suspect they aren't all that independent.

Not necessarily bought these 1 1/2 years ago still have amazing sound and bass, had it caught on a few chairs, tugged and pulled, still amazing sound quality :)
#25
these are the best headphones i have ever had

I used to own a pair of proper Sennheiser CX-300s purchased at a good offer price one day from Dixons/Currys (but they came over all stolen one day last year), and I also owned a pair of these, purchased from Amazon (well, still do, in a manner of speaking). The two are not the same. In no way is the EP-630 any relation to the CX-300. They feel different, they sound quite different. The CX-300 was deep, dark, warm, detailed. The EP-630 is bright, light, also detailed but in a different way. Even swapping the rubber inserts over doesn’t alter the impression. Personally I preferred the CX-300 although it tends to lack mid (which is probably what the market seeks), but perhaps the EP-630 is accurate and flat by comparison, just a touch crisp, cold and bright when A/B'd. The EP-630 doesn’t sound budget or cheap or lacking, but it also doesn’t sound in any way related to the Sennheiser units.

By the way, here’s what I did with my EP-630s, when I bought my HTC Wilde Fire (for the latter has unusable earphones that simply fall out unless you walk around with your fingers pressed into your ears):

Hacked headphone/mic set (intentionally dark and moody low-key photo). This is HTC all the way up to the entry cables, which were pushed into the rubber strain reliefs from the Creatives, then soldered, then push-fit sealed back (slight cracking of the plastic around the metal rim in getting them open — one day I’ll finish and glue them back tighter).

+1 to that. I currently have both, and although the actual in-ear bit of the earphones look very similar, that's as far as it goes. The difference in sound is the real giveaway, and it's exactly as u0421793 describes.

I'm most certainly not an audiophile, but even I can hear that the Sennheisers have a far warmer sound. To me they are bit better quality than the EP-630, but not a huge step up, and it's probably quite a subjective thing anyway - it'll depend what kind of sound you prefer.

Also, you won't find CX-300s at this price, and for under £8, the Creative Labs EP-630 are well worth the money. I bought two pairs at a similar price a couple of years ago thinking I'd use the 2nd pair as replacements, so far they're still sitting unused.

SOLD OUT !
#29
I can't see the one's sold by Amazon or Indigo Star (just Indigo Media but for £8.45 + £4.59 postage).

Anyone have any idea if Lime Pint are reliable? Seem to have good feedback
#30
I have both, I can't really tell any difference in the sound myself but I prefer the 630s because the 300 headphone jack is HUGE. Easier to knock if it's plugged into something in your pocket.
#31
I can only see it as £8.45 + £4.59 delivery - must have missed the offer
#32
Damn £10.99 now :(
suspended#33
good price, used to hang around this price. i bought mine 3 years ago and still work they are.without a doubt the best budget earphones. they are not the same as the cx300 just the casing is. I have to say though that these are poor if you can spend more then you'll get so much more, say 30quid getsyou some beta m2 from mp4nation which are epic. i found thebass id
way to uneven and murky not clear but that is
me being used to having average gear like audio technica ad700 headphones and m2 earphones these are perfect if your on a tight budget and don't want to use the terrible buds that come with music players lol.
#34
i took good care of mine (careful not to bang the earphones against hard surfaces etc) and lasted just under 3 years and then 1 side stopped working :(
most durable portable headphones ive had so far though!
#35
Now £7.40 & in stock. Mods - pls un-expire

£12.99 + £4.59 shipping now, got mine for £7.40!

Thanks for posting that cos if it is true then it just saved me buying these cos I had some cx300's and they were a waste of money, poor quality build and sound, so I got some Sony ones in the end that were half the price and twice as good.
#38
there is no way these are cx300s,i have them and the EP 630s and the creative's are so much better.

I've just ordered a pair from amazon and they came in this packaging:

http://i50.tinypic.com/15fnlkw.jpg

I have ordered 3 or 4 pairs of these earphones directly from amazon in the past (not from a seller) and they have always come in this small, white packaging.

But a post by a user on a diff thread which states "If it doesn't come in an orange "blister-pack" send them straight back." has me worried.

Also this thread: http://www.amazon.co.uk/anyone-seller-GENUINE-EP630s-sale/forum/Fx4IMWCOFB7KEE/Tx169XXLQTG9FLZ/1/ref=cm_cd_dp_ef_tft_tp?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B0009G6FQI&tag=hotukdeals-21

So are these a fake or are they genuine? Does anyone know? What packaging does it usually come in for everyone else? Thanks for any help
