Manufacturer's Description
.caption { font-family: Verdana, Helvetica neue, Arial, serif; font-size: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; } ul.indent { list-style: inside disc; text-indent: 20px; } Bring your media with you wherever you roam with the Creative Zen 16GB player. Watch 64 hours of videos, enjoy up to 8,000 of your favorite songs (based on four-minute tracks in WMA at 64kbps) or share hundreds of photos with your friends. And do it all on a device that's about the width of a credit card.

A razor sharp 2.5-inch display makes your photos and videos come to life.

Small size. Big features. All in the palm of your hand.

Add even more storage capacity via the SD card slot.Design
The Zen sports a 2.5-inch TFT colour display with 320 x 240-pixel resolution and support for up to 16.7 million colours. This razor sharp display is packaged in a device that weighs just 2.1 ounces and measures 3.26 x 2.16 x .44 inches (W x H x D). The internal battery powers the Zen for up to 25 hours of continuous audio playback and up to five hours of continuous video playback. Use the Zen's SD slot to expand your portable media library with music, photos and videos stored on your SD card. There's also a handy built-in microphone for capturing notes on the go.

Features
Load up up your favorite songs, as well as your album art, and get going with the Zen. The device supports iTunes Plus tracks from the iTunes store and MP3 and WMA tracks. Subscription and pay-per-download music services are supported, as well. You can even tune into your favorite stations with the Zen's FM radio. The radio allows you to save up to 34 presets.
The Zen has you covered when it comes to video, too. The device supports MJPEG, WMV9 and--with transcoding--MPEG1 and 2, MPEG4-SP, DivX 4 and 5, and XviD. Enjoy purchased or rented movies and TV shows from online services. Watch home videos. Even load your Tivo To Go movies and TV shows onto your Zen.
Additional features include a clock and alarm function, volume restriction, eight equalizer settings, and a USB hard drive mode, which allows you to drag and drop files directly to and from your Zen. The Zen can also function as a handy organizer, allowing you to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook and display your contacts, calendar, and tasks.

Fan boy/girl!

Actually you are wrong... I have both... Sound quality on the creative whacks the hell out of the ipod Ithough the creative doesnt do gapless) screen is better on the creative and lets face it... 16 gb is plenty for most of us. Its not as heavy... not as breakable... I use my creative all the time... my ipod .... rarely...

Voted hot! and dont come out with fanboy statements without FACTS or at least an OPINION to back it up! :p
#6
Oh yes.... bigger screen than a nano too.... same size as a classic but half the price... and this takes sd cards too!
#7
:? where's this made..hong kong.. and do you have to practise zen in a triangle?

^^^ LOL!

This is HOT! 16 GB for £79.99! Awesome deal. I would go for it if I hadn't just bought a Sony Walkman
#10
I've just bought a Sony 16gb for about £80, and that sounds way better than an iPod - so no reason why this won't also.

Hot deal I think.

Guys/girls - you have all misunderstood this statement.

What this means, is "not as good as an iPod at being overpriced and inferior in terms of sound quality against other devices in the same class".

It looks nice, sure. But why does it need to be so pretty when it's sat in your pocket?

Unless your pockets have eyes.

The only thing letting down ALL Creative players with external expansion at the moment, is the fact that none of them integrate the main library with the files on the memory card, rendering your player a royal pain in the árse with 2 libraries.

wasnt one of these posted a few days ago and everyone slated it?

hope I am wrong, as I would love one of these if they are any good...

would be interested to see what Docking options are available to sync with computer or to use in a kitchen - a quick google doesnt show much to me...

sadly, cos of the docking options, an ipod is still the best way to go (if docking is important, which it is to me).....I would have had a sony last week had they had proper docks for them....
#15
oh - and does this work with iplayer? a big plus if so...

That's why they get carried\flased around, and then people wonder why they get mugged by a bunch of chavs (it's the new Burberry I think).

Don't know why people knock Ipods.
Great piece of kit, regardless of how many millions have them.
#20
I had the 8gb version and hated it, in my opinion the menu layout and user interface is rubbish.

I have had many different gen/styles ipod and sony walkmans and would chose anything over the Zen.

For me, it's the inferior sound quality that lets them down, and the fact you are forced to use iTunes out of the box, which I despise. I also hate the fact that you can't drag and drop onto iPods ...
#22
great price!
i paid £49 for the 4gig one a few weeks back-cant comment on quality yet cos its a pressie, but it cant be as good as an ipod can it? it hasnt got poor quality white ear buds!
(yes, thats sarcasm!!)

No No NOOOOOO! Just bought the 8GB for about the same as a present. This IS the best deal for an excellent player. The 16GB has Wi-fi so you can connect direct to your PC wirelessly and stream....I was so close to sending back the 8GB to Amazon when I realised it wasn't WiFi...then I decided not to and went and opended it!

Are you sure you're not thinking of the zen x-fi not the regular zen?
#24
hotyoda
Nope. X-Fi. The 16GB was indeed about £125. Loaded some songs and vids onto the 8GB and it worked pretty seamlessly (except for album art not transferring...one to fix after Christmas me thinks...just wanted to get some stuff onto it to show the wife that it will actually work for her!). I've got a Zen Vision M and it's definitely up there with that one in terms of quality.

What i meant was; this is a regular Zen not a Zen X-Fi. Only the X-Fi was wi-fi, not these

Still a cracking player though, Already got the 4gb version and can't justify the expense to upgrade to the X-Fi

Oh....I see what you mean! I am a muppet. Always check the link!!!! Still makes me feel a bit better until the x-fi actually does drop in price in the new year.

Sorry all....but still have a merry Christmas.

You speak sense and know your MP3 players well, you also have a very cool avatar....long live the old skool classic Lucasart adventures...DOTT rocked!
#30
Lol, thank you.

I spend most of my working day enduring with my Zen V+ ... soon to be replaced with a Cowon iAudio U5 when I can find one that is a sensible price.

And yes - DOTT and other SCUMM games were complete and utter win. Manic Mansion (the full game) was hidden within DOTT :)

You can get the Creative Zen 8gb for 65 quid delivered if 80 quid is too much, and don't forget they'll both take up to 16gb SDHC cards.
