Be aware that you have to charge this using a USB port on your PC or alternatively buy a special charger for it (about £20). It doesn't take normal batteries.
#6
No it doesn't take normal batteries, but when they are £3.50 who cares :)

True about the charging, although its cheaper to get a compatible off eBay from the far east.
#7
Does it not come with a charger?

Cheers, Dio :)
#8
It comes with a USB lead and charges off that.

If you need a wall charger you can get one from creative but its a bit pricy. Ebay ones are way cheaper and work just as well.

I have never had any issues with mine, nor have I needed to recharge on a long haul flight.

If i did, I would just do it off my laptop anyway :)

From experience, not as good as an iPod… BUT this is still an exceptional price for a 6GB player. Great find.
#10
got the micro 5gb last week of ebuyer through the google checkout for £48 great wee mp3 player
#11
Might be cheaper via ebay... someone just won a pink one for 39 pounds not inclusive of P&P... direct from creative.

Do these work with Mac's? Anyone know?
#13
Total £53.89 delivered its a good MP3 Player but I would recommend some in-ear headphones due to lack of bass.

I'd check this out before buying one.

On the official forums as well, blyme', and I was so gonna buy one.

Apparently a known HARDWARE problem is the headphone jack breaking for no reason, I wouldn't mind if it was a firmware problem, but this just sucks balls now.

Anyway you guys make the decision and tell me good news otherwise if you do decide to buy one.

One point it being refurbished is that it might be one of them faulty headphone jack ones properly fixed.
#15
I thought the earphone jack problem was with earlier models, not the 6GB versions. I've had a 4GB Zen Micro and a 6GB (I think, maybe 8GB) Micro Photo. The Micro Photo had what felt like a metal back as opposed to the soft plastic back of the 4GB Zen Micro. I assumed that this was an attempt by Creative to solve the problem with the headphone jack.
#16
yep there is a headphone problem, but it can be rectified.

i got my 4 gig one from an ebayer with the fault for £20, there is a simple guide on the net which helps you fix it. (it works perfectly now, but you break the warentee seal.)

follow it exactly and you should be ok.

Not natively - OS X refuses to recognise the volume! However there is excellent freeware called XNJB that adds all the functionality you need.

Actually this is also an issue with Ipod's - the right headphone speaker dies, there's quite few threads on it.

I've had a Zen Micro 4Gb for 2 years now and aside from being as bright as a searchlight the player is unmarked and functions perfectly. Also got a 2Gb Nano the right earphone died on after about 6-7 months.

off top a bit here,

gotta sing the praises of my rio karma,
4 years now with numerous spills, still going strong (battery life an issue though!!) & could'nt live without gapless playback (ipod's have this now??)
any other big player's got gapless now??

I know what you mean...I see deals on here..buy them and then think about the money later! Bought this one anyway. Are these an old model?? I'm not too bothered as long as it works.
#21
I'm really tempted by this, I've almost filled my 4 gig creative muvo. Only thing stopping me is the fact it's only got a 90 day warranty.
#22
Great find, thanks a lot :)

A word of warning to buyers, the wife's 5GB micro recently gave up the ghost. The hard drive decided to finally corrupt each time I tried to apply firmware or add tracks to it.
In just over a year it had to be headphone socket fixed twice (I solder regularly so not much problem for me), but was stunned that this little player could have fundamental problems with it.

Buyer beware on this one. I think £50 is still a lot for something that isn't guaranteed to work this time next year.

A bit like the 2 Ipod's I went through in 4 (yes 4!) months due to different problems. Ironically, im now using my sisters Zen which is about 2 years old and still going strong.

Horses for courses, and a little off to say that this product is not g'teed to work this time next year as NOTHING is g'teed to work, we just hope it lasts us.

You mean Tape players are now out of fashion?!?!?
