Shame the capacity is not bigger, though the basttery life is great (I guess as a result of having a hard disk). If you want more capacity may be worth checking out the recent zune posted for a similar price.

Yeah, you're right, but I thought the SD card feature was a good idea - you can pick up 8GB cards for little more than a tenner now.

I have one of these with a 16gb sdhc memory card to. It's a great player. Considering the memory upgrade it's far smaller than many high capacity mp3 players. The battery life is great and the screen is superb (although you need a screen protector).

One word of warning though. The memory card doesn't integrate with the onboard music library and there's no plans to release a firmware fix for this. This means that you have to switch between the two which isn't that bad. What's worse is that when you switch the player off and it's using the sd card it doesn’t remember where it is. That's so annoying for me. Plus you can't set up play lists.

I don't think it has a hard drive, its a flash memory based mp3 player

Can you recommend a screen protector?

i have the 4gb version and found the screen scratches pretty easy.
so i bought this one from play
it makes it a bit more bulky but i use mine at work and id rather my screen be scratch free than a liitle bit smaller
