Just got the last 16GB pink one in Bedford to put up for my daughter for Christmas.

I assume this is the LX as there is no mention of radio or built in speaker.........

The ZEN Mozaic has two derivatives, the ZEN Mozaic LX and the ZEN Mozaic EZ300. The ZEN Mozaic LX is a more affordable model which lacks an FM Radio and built-in speakers.

out of stock in bolton
#7
None anywhere in Birmingham :-(

Nice price. No stock where I am, though. Sadly, either for the 8 or 16.

Bit of a pokey screen for watching video, though. Probably best used as just an MP3 player.

Do these have an compatibility with any remote controls or docking stations with remotes?

XMAS? You're kidding. Electronics depreciate in value so much that it's madness to buy something 6 months before it'll even be taken out of the box.
Each to their own, I suppose, but utterly crazy.

1.8"? Even mines bigger than that
#11
Reserved last one in Skem, but still one left at Leigh retail park, voted hot.
#12
Couldn't find any stock in the nearest 16 stores.
#13
Thanks. Managed to reserve one.

I wouldn't go so far to say utterly crazy. Yeah things change, new things come and old things go. It doesn't bother me as it's for a 10 year old. If it was something for me then it would be up to the minute technology and be used right away.

I don't think it's a bad buy for Xmas, really. There might be some better bargains round Sept/Oct, but it's a good price and I doubt anything will be cheaper at Xmas.

One of the priciest parts of it will be the flash memory, and it's been at the same price for a while now.

Losing 5 months warranty is a negative, but most of these things will fail through wear and tear, and won't be covered.

I'd say it's a good deal. A 16 GB Portable video player for £47 from a known brand is going to be a good deal in six months, too. I sold a four year old 6 GB Zen music player for £25 with a massive crack in the case on eBay last month.

How would this compare with the equivalent Sony... anybody had experience with both?
My absolutely spot on perfect sony 639s has just gone totally kaput after dropping her... so Ive still got the decent headphones from that to allay the obviously bad headphones with this model.

Reserved a 16GB one anyway just in case as these are quite rare.

Been looking at this Sony: http://www.argos.co.uk/ProductDisplayTRK019?partNumber=5139770

Anybody know if Windows XP treats this as a mass storage device so that you can simply cost and paste MP3's onto it rather than having to install the software that comes with it etc etc?

Thanks

According to this link, then yeah it's a simple drag/drop interface http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090313110154AAXRqbI

Pretty sure it's mainly just apple that tries to force that stupid crap onto you, possibly some sony ones too...
#22
Can anyone please confirm, if this has built-in speaker too?
Thanks
#23
none in southampton stores, though good price
#24
How do they compare, sound quality wise, with the Sansa Clip+ ?
#25
None in Hull :-(
Good price if you can find one. Creative were doing quality mp3 players years before crappy ipods came along. iTunes is the devil's work!

Thanks OP, got a 16 GB one for £47.99 in Dumbarton... excellent!!! :)

just a quick word of warning, i got one of these from argos about 14 months ago and it was fantastic to begin with but after a couple of days the songs seemed to become laggy and sounded sometimes like a scatched cd. it was strange because it started as one of my favourite music players and i liked it more then my ipod just a shame it had such a fault. but this could be an individual case with a bad unit or could of been a firmware issue they have resolved. just thought you should have a heads up :)
#29
from what ive read they can be quite laggy/skippy when cycling through music.
