Cheap, but OLED screens are horrible.

Worth it if you're not interested in using it for the video or photo features though, so hot from me.
OLED screens are the future
Why would anyone want to watch video on a screen this small anyway
Good price for any 8GB player from a name brand.
Voted hot
OLED screens are the future

led is the future.

oled is antique.
led is the future.

oled is antique.

No, USB 1.1 is antique
I think you'll find that garlic bread is the future.

Voted hot.
Great price for 8GB  HOT from me :)
Alright it's not the most cutting edge product out there but for £50 it's a very good buy in my eyes anyway.
led is the future.

oled is antique.

I think you're confused, you're talking about LED backlighting.

OLED is the future (or one of them) for screen technology.
Besides USB 1.1 this has to be hot good deal
i have the 4gb version of this and its very good, really small and easy to carry around. Battery life is pretty good too.
I wouldn't take much notice of that specification in regards to USB v1.1, on the creative site it shows USB v2 support for that model.
Besides USB 1.1 this has to be hot good deal

USB 1.1 is required - it also supports USB 2.0 - from the description:

(USB 2.0 port recommended for faster transfers)

Not buying one cos I have a Coke iPod from last summer :-D But Hot for an 8 gig Media player

Ah BlackAle beat me to it...
led is the future.

oled is antique.

no OLED is the future
The description seems strange, since the Creative V, does not play video clips, whilst the Creative V+, does.

Also, Argos are selling the 4GB V+ at more than this player, which leads me to believe that this is, indeed, the non-video-playing V model instead. The V+ also hosts and FM radio, which the V does not.

Given that the Argos description lists it as having a radio, then it must be the V+ model, incorrectly labeled as V.

Can anyone confirm that this is the V+ model?
garlic bread is the future.

I've tasted it!! :-D

OLED screens horrible? No way, top of the range SLR cameras have OLED screens.
Both Sony and Samsung are betting that large OLED displays are the way forwards and have invested millions in making that happen in the very near future.

The reason being is:

1. OLEDs take less power
2. OLEDs have markedly better contrast ratio
3. OLED TVs can be made much slimmer

Check this article out:

However, there are OLEDs and there are OLEDs. Early technology, including the OLED displays incorporated by these players are plagued by problems. In particular, they can fade over time (as short as 1-2 years) and stop working altogether.

The next generation of OLEDs hope to overcome these issues...
delivery is £4.95 yes?
Canon's SED was superior to LCD, many videophiles were looking forward to it as the future, but had to be dropped due to the falling production costs of LCDs.
I have this. It's ****ing excellent.
I have this one and its a good price - I got refurbed on for abotu 60.

Its really small mind so if you are like me then u may misplace it a couple of times but for just pure music its great.
oh yeah theyre good, I gave my sister the 4GB previously and just reserved this as an upgrade for her :)
very easy to use - once you know about the hidden menu (hold play when powering up to get an option to format the player, much faster than deleting all the files!).

there is no 16GB is there??
good deal for an 8GB player

voted hot

and OLED is definitely the future
This must be the V plus as the V model doesn't come in 8gb form. Very, very tempted by this - cheers OP

EDIT: after doing a bit of research i'll give this a miss as it doesn't have a memory expansion slot and Rockbox hasn't been ported for it. Still a hot deal for anyone looking for a great simple flash drive mp3 player though.
not hot from me, although not voted cold, i think the philips 8gb model 3.5 inch screen @£65 is a much better buy all round, still available at argos
Will this play itunes songs that are protected
Will this play itunes songs that are protected

I think it will daniel.
If anyone gets it could they confirm if it is the V or the V+

and OLED is definitely the future
Maybe... but is it the present? :)
I have the 4gb V model.

Word of warning - you need a computer with the creative software on to recharge this !

We went on holiday last week and took 3 generic USB chargers but when the player went flat it did not recognise the chargers !

You can buy a Creative charger from their website for about £17 delivered or get a copy one from Ebay for less than £4.

Ours does not support video but if this one on offer does can anyone confirm?

Just picked mine up and it is a V PLUS
Good work, SavageDonkey.
Happy days, reserved to be collected later.

Hot hot hot.
I think it will daniel.

you sure tho
So to confirm this does NOT come with a AC adapter then and can only be charged by USB
On creatives website the zen v only goes upto 4gb and the zen plus goes upto 8gb, so it must be the zen plus.
Picked one up at lunchtime and it is the Zen Plus as discussed.

Box contains:
Zen Plus MP3 Player
USB cable
Headphones with covers
Line-in Cable
Cloth carry bag
Software disc

Hooked it up and it was recognised, although I think it requires software to actually be utilised by the PC. It appears to be charging via the USB cable so far, the icon is there.

No power adaptor at all in the box.
It's this: [www_play_com]
