Ranked as 'Best of CES 2006' in the category of MP3 and video player and 'Best in Show',it was the best product of the CES 2006 convention, the Zen Vision:M is truly a must-have! The Zen Vision:M has numerous features, a remarkable design, 262 144 colours, good battery life and compatibility with many music subscription problems. Available here in white, it is capable of storing 15 000 songs, 120 hours of video and tens of thousands of digital photos thanks to its 30 GB hard drive. The Zen Vision:M offers up to 14 hours of battery life and allows you to take advantage of your favourite FM radio stations, a dictaphone and synchronisation with Outlook to consult your schedule, your contacts etc. In video mode, it has up to 4 hours of battery life. It also reads various formats, including MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 SP as well as Xvid, WMV and MJPEG. The model also amateur videos transferred from a PC or video blogs downloaded from ZenCast.com.

This is an excellent buy, well spotted. People who know their subject, know that the Creatives usually outshine the Ipods in overall performance and specification. Quality product.

Have been looking into these myself, and you can get the black version of this for only £149.99 on Play.com, which is very tempting indeed....

These are the dog's doo dah's:)

purchased mine back in the spring and have not regretted it.it never freezes like some, ahem,i could mention,it sounds superb,it's nice and solid and the menu system is not as sensitive as some would make out.

if you are thinking of getting one, these are great prices(be it white or black)

it is also worth looking at a site called bestskinsever.com,because of the glossy finish, finger marks can be apparent,it also protects it from scratches etc.it cost me around £6 posted(from usa) but,if you ever come to sell it in the future it will look just like new:)

Ouch.

Saw one of these in M&S for £99.99 a couple of days before Christmas. Figured there was no way M&S would have the best price, so figured I'd leave it until the sales to look for a new MP3 player. Went into Tesco (next door) and my mp3 player (original zen touch) 'broke', with the hard disk making a horrible 'searching' sound. Got home, formatted it, working fine again. No worries.

Went to M&S at Marble Arch on 28th to see if they still had these in stock, and the assistant smiled and said they'd sold out. I said I wasn't surprised at £99.99 having seen them for £189+ elsewhere. He smiled again and said they'd gone down to £39.99 :O - 'we just do as we're told' was his comment. Needless to say every store had sold out, and they won't be getting any more in stock. Those that I phoned seemed to think this had been a fair while ago. Unfortunately there are so few with a technology department, and they don't sell the Creative players online, it looks like this one passed us all by :(

Nevermind. Still a good price in comparison to other retailers, so will vote HOT - the M&S deal would have registered as the hottest summer's day on Venus!

I managed to get 2 from Manchester M&S (both pink) - I was first in the queue at 7:15am and had to run up the escalators at 8am to get them - The staff had reserved loads of them
There is a FREE dock for Zen Vision M players bought between December and Jan 15th
The form can be found from the link below

http://www.promo-creative.eu/en/dock1.php

Please note - the dock has had mixed reviews as it isn't a seperate plug charger - just a USB lead and a stand - but you can't complain when it's a free gift!

My husband is very pleased with his pink Vision - and i'll be getting a case very soon so that we can tell them apart (he'll get the case!)

Do M&S have any available online?

If they do can someone post the link?

Sorry, they aren't available online and the staff/ early birds got the store stock

I have had this model for a over 6 months now. Highly recommended. Video quality is outstanding and you can also plug it into a TV and watch the stored movies.

One small point to watch though is that these will ship with European Firmware which has a sound limiter. If you like your music nice and loud you can flash the firmware with the USA version which will give you nearly 30% more volume.

i think general consesus is they appear more reliable, and you dont tend to pay as much for the "name", as you do with ipod...

one thing i find with these though, is they do always seem a bit chunkier/heavier than apples alternative.

Amazing player...had one since May 2006 but cost £210 back then...I guess the 60GB version is now easily available and so this one gets a price cut...

The screen is better and more vibrant than an equivalent iPod...plus it has FM radio too  yes they are slightly thicker and heavier but well worth it...fashion vs functionality sums it up

My cousin had an iPod Nano and we had so many problems with it...not sure if its Windows at fault or the iPod itself.

The battery lasts around the four hour mark if you are using it for video playback as opposed to the ipod equivalents 2-2.5 hrs.Basically you can watch a Lord of the rings movie in full, should you so wish, before needing to recharge:) The screen resolution is also better.

they may be 'chunkier',in my opinion this is a good thing,it feeld very solid though it is down to personal preference I suppose.

What I like about the creative players,of all the people who i know who have one, from the Zen touch to myself with the vision m,none of us have had any problems with it.

Cannot say that about ipods,unfortunately.
