does anyone here at HUKD knows about the new slimmer version of the 60gb Creative Zen Vision:M? I heard they've reduced the 60gb down to the same size as 30gb but I'im not sure if/when it's available in UK...
#6

I havent heard about this, but if this is the case, thats good news for us 30gb owners, as that means clearly now that there are 1.8" hard disks out there now of with a 60gb storage size that are thin enough to fit to replace the existing hard disk!

The pink one is very very nice actually, my wife ordered one last month when they were selling them off at Dabs for £99 delivered. Kinda envious with my white one lol. Still, the male side of me wouldnt be seen dead walking around the streets with it, but it does actually LOOK nice. Good value for £125.

There's quite a lot of debate going on at EpiZENter about this slimmer 60gb model... Also according to Creative's EU site: "Creative's ZEN Vision:M 60GB is the same size as the original 30GB version - but with double the memory and more features."

But I can't find any details regarding its dimensions on their site...:?

Voted hot...

Be warned though... a mate of mine bought this one at xmas, and it DOESN'T come with with a mains charger. You can it by USB, but a mains charger will cost you extra.

Little thing, but may dissuade some people.

I've had an old Creative Zen Touch for two years now and would recomend them wholeheartedly for build, relaibility and battery life.

recommended - bought one recently (£10 dearer but claimed it back with the amazon 30 day policy) and claimed the free video cable which seems to be not on offer anymore. works brilliantly so you can watch video / listen to music through your tv. plus unlike the ipod its compatible with most formats meaning no long conversion times. one warning though is that rather cheaply they have only provided a usb for charging so you will have to look on ebay for a charger (got one on ebay for about a tenner).

I had one of these sound is better than ipod, built in radio, more screen colours than ipod but viewing angle seemed less. A bit more fiddly to use. Most divx films from the net play (so no conversion required) but doesn't play mp4 (ipod/psp) content. Better battery life than original ipod 30 gig (which I owned prior to this).
#16
not a good deal as these were going for £99.99

i saved loads buying pink , love it

This looks a good device while on the train.

Not sure if any of you guys can give me advice or experience whether it works good for computer training videos on it

Ideally want to watch training videos from http://www.cbtnuggets.com/ etc on the player.

Ive been waiting as well for the slimmed down versions, looking for the 60GB one so I can use it as a hard disk as well.

Some info on the new dimensions can be found here:

http://www.trustedreviews.com/multimedia/news/2007/03/13/Creative-Slims-Down-Vision-M-W/p1

I wish they would hurry up and release the slimmer ones...

This seems a good deal :)

Will the older Creative Zen Xtra/PSP 5v mains charger work with it?

is there not any firmware upgrade to be able to play mp4 content on this creative zen then? if there isnt, do u reckon they will release one for it?
#22
i actually downgraded my firmware to the us version for the extra volume. ive never used ipod / psp content but why would you even bother?

and saying its not a good deal because it WAS £99.99 doesnt matter because its not that price anymore.
#23
I bought the 60GB version from Amazon about 3 weeks ago and received the slimmed down version
#24
Can you use the same sort of docks that you can use for ipods for these? Also, if so, which one would people recommend? If not, which would people recommend?
#25
You can use psp charger which should be little cheaper and easier to get.

Looking at the size quoted on Amazon:

Size: 104 x 62 x 18.6mm

Then checking the size guide on Trusted reviews:

both models cutting their fat asses from 22.1mm to 19mm and 26.4mm to 22mm respectively.

I would have thought they were the new slimmer ones!

I don't think so...
Because Japan's the first place to have the slimmed down version of 60GB and according to the japanese Creative site, both 30GB and 60GB have the same dimensions as follows:
62mm×104mm×19mm

If you check out the following link:
http://jp.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=213&subcategory=214&product=14331&nav=2
Even though it's in Japanese, you can see from the table that this dimensions are listed under both 60GB and 30GB...

Anybody know if Currys will price match Amazon. I went today to try and price match against Dixons at £136, but they wouldn't because it was out of stock. Their price is £169. I hate wating though! Want it now! :-D
#31
I have had one for over a year now and its the best bit of kit I own. The Euro firmware has a sound limiter so if you like your music banging upgrade it to the US firmware.

Picture and sound quality for such a small device is outstanding.

Battery life at 14 hours for music and 4 hours for movies is better than the iPod Video.
#32
Any thoughts on the difficulty in replacing the battery?
#33
back to £134.99 delivered :)

As it stands, Amazon are selling this player for £139.98...can I get 5% of that price by using an NUS card? Plus, any other ways of getting this cheaper on Amazon (promo codes)? Finally, does anyone know where I could get this cheaper than on Amazon...I've looked at several sites but this is the cheapest I have found it
#35
anybody???
#36
Play were doing it at 134.99 and with the play £5 off £50 voucher took it to £129.99
#37
Where is the cheapest place to buy accessories for the CZ Vision M (bar eBay)...I'm thinking predominantly of the AV cable, a silicon case, screen protector and a wall mains charger...any responses welcome.
#38
sadly you will be severely ripped off if you dont go the ebay route mate

yeh I know...the accessories pack I want is a ridiculous £40 at Play.com...sheesh! The only reason I don't wanna buy the accessories on eBay is 'cos they're not genuine Creative Labs products...but I guess if most ppl are getting 'em there, then they'll be OK.
