Manufacturer's Description

Experience your MP3 music as the artist originally intended with the Creative Zen X-Fi--the first player to restore the quality of compressed music with award-winning X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity Audio technology. Indulge in rich, crystal-clear audio when you listen to your music, as the detail that's lost during file compression is now beautifully restored and played through premium-quality, noise-isolatling EP-830 earphones.

The included EP-830 earphones provide optimum comfort with excellent noise isolation.

Sleek Beauty
A pocket-sized player that weighs a mere 69 grams, the Zen X-Fi sports attractive curves with a graceful finish. Immerse yourself in the brilliant 2.5-inch TFT screen with 16.7 million colours as you watch your movies and view your pictures.

Built with X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity Audio technology, the player lets you experience the very essence of music perfection as you listen to audio in crystal clear clarity. Hear your music the way it was always meant to be heard. Plus, the included EP-830 earphones provide optimum comfort with excellent noise-isolation capability.

The ZEN X-Fi also includes a built-in speaker so you can share your music, wherever you are, without the need for an additional speaker system.

True Mobility
You can now stream music and photos wirelessly from your PC to your player within a home network. With the Zen X-Fi, experience the sound of perfection wherever you go. Stay connected with friends on Yahoo Messenger or Windows Live Messenger on the go (at region-specific public wireless LAN hotspots).

Not any more sadly; they did for a while but stopped again.

I think with the Creative you can stream content to it from another computer. Usefull if you store all your music and video's on a PC and don't want to store them on this device.

Good find, going for £90+ on fleebay!

if is still within 1 month, i recon you can give them a call..
tell them that the price dropped and you are thinking of returning the item and buy agian..
i did that on an item recently and the lady on the phone was kind enough to offer me a refund ...
#9
If I needed a MP3 player, I'd certainly be ordering one at this price!
#10
whats the video conversion like? In previous players it has been tediously slow....
#11
It's still tediously slow (depending on your computer I guess)... but it's still a great little player IMO

I have the Sony NWZ------- as well. This does look like a good wee player, and the reviews are quite favourable...Does anyone have both? The Sony and a version of this? How do they compare, what do you use the most? Thanks.

Superb mp3 player at an incredible price. I bought this in january at £120 and was pleased at that price although I appreciate the x-fi2 is out now.
No bluetooth but the wifi is good on the 16gb and 32gb models, you can stream music/video/pictures from networked PC's in the house through this.

Extra £20 for touch screen, you pays your money.....

If I hadn't gone for the Sonys a day or so ago I would be all over this. Looks like a cracking deal. HOT!
#25
Bear in mind that the SD card expansion slot WON'T integrate with your main library, unless Creative have actually supported one of their products with new drivers (!). This is the reason I went for a Sony NWZ-S639F 16GB - no point in expansion slot if you have to treat as a separate library in my personal opinion.

Otherwise, good devices. Sound far better than the equivalent iPod for sound quality (if you use the same earphones on each device) and almost as good as Sony devices. Neither are close to Cowon though.

have just cancelled as cant be doing with the long video transfer times as with the previous zen. Why cant they release an updated version of the vision M - still my best mp4 player ever even if it is massive!
#27
Why is it expired?

Still using my Vision M daily - a great machine.

Can you not just drag and drop on this one like you can on the vision m?
#30
NOT expired.

Looks like someone is suffering from last nights HUKD Christmas bash :santa:

Looking at some reviews it seems you can drag and drop but most files cannot be played until converted to the right video size dimensions and format. Unlike the Vision M which plays pretty much anything you throw at it!

ok here comes the stupid question lol

does this have WLAN, like on the Ipods I would like to browse the net using this if possible?

Muco Gracias.

It has WLAN but as far as I am aware there is no browser for the web included. The WLAN is used for sharing music from your PC to the device....

Thought about that before I purchased, decided that it wasn't an issue for me. I have 2 4GB SD cards with all my classical music on, and just have the other genre's on the x-fi main storage - I tend to play one or the other over a period so the problem doesn't occur.

It also isn't an issue if you don't want to fill the x-fi storage as 16gb is alot of music!
#37
Thanks very much for posting this deal mate, it's a right 'cracker' it must be said! :-D Heat added :)

Exactly - some people will stick video on the external card and music on the internal. 16GB is a lot, but I have almost 10x that, so it fills rather quickly, lol.

It's not that big a deal I suppose, but would really bug me knowing it doesn't work in a logical way. Coupled with a now negligible build quality from Creative (I'm still loyal to them, just disappointed), I can't help but feel they are getting left behind.

How's it compare to an iTouch if at all guys??

Looking to get something along these lines soon.

Cheers.

You'll find the sound quality is far superior to iPods, but the software is clunky and less accessible than itunes.
I suppose it depends which is worth more to you, the style or the quality.
