Someone told me about this the other day as he has twice been turned down for a mortgage and couldn't understand why. 30 day free trial. It seems you need to phone a freephone number to cancel, othe…

that'll be 15.00 per month until you remember to cancel it in several months time... please remember to call me to cancel when i will endeavour to wriggle out of your request!
whilst i'm sure that some people get out of their contract fine, it's without question weighted against you... the temptation to get cashback via a site and the 'free' 30 day period are inextircaby linked so, to get the cashbak you usually have to go over the free month... plus, everyone (papers and media) tout experian and similar as somehow being an invaluable asset whereas, in fact, it serves almost no purpose beyond telling you what you already know: you are either a good or bad credit risk.

you already know this on the basis of whether or not you've been turned down for store credit or bank card or some hp agreement knockback.

all experian do is tell you, in pretty colours and graphs that:

your status for credit is diminished by

not being on the electoral register
having an outstanding debt
having lived in your current location for less than a year and having moved lots.

you can improve your credit rating by:

registering properly at your current address with the council, banks, utilities, council tax, etc.

there
I joined for 30 days and cancelled no problem. No money was taken and the person I spoke to was very nice
I got stuck with this and after umpteen tries to cancel i finally got out of it when my new bank card arrived and the code on the back changed, then they had the cheek to e-mail me telling me i wasn't covered by them lots of cold from me :(

Half of reviewers are happy with it, I'm sure that's more than what can be said about Experian, this thread says it all about Experian really.
