Neil Finn is a brilliant songwriter. There's a warmth with Crowded House that very few bands I listen to possess (Distant Sun is a very good example of that). I'm ashamed to admit that I only own "Recurring Dream" and "Afterglow" but this seems like the ideal opportunity to rectify that. Voted hot, no question.

Recurring Dream (the song) is awesome (technically not a Crowded House song, I know)...did you ever get into Split Enz?

Splitz Enz got me into Crowded House tbh :) Neil Finn is fantastic but ill always have a soft spot for Tim, it cant be easy to be in a band and have your wee brother come along and write a smash hit! Have seen CH more times than i can remember and even twice in one night (Glasgow and a small gig in Edinburgh -many moons ago now)
Anyway im digressing, top choice and i have many favourites but the shortlist would be Into Temptation, Nails in my Feet, Mean to Me and Fall at Your Feet but i could mention many (many!) more..
Last saw them in November at the Glasgow SECC and dont know if they were quite the same without Paul Hester (RIP)...
edit: komakino, ive just noticed you dont own "Temple of Low Men".. If you like the others, this will blow you away- youll really need to get a copy! :)

Yeah, I should really get round to buying the rest of their stuff. I've liked them since '98 (a bit late to the party) but I am/was bit of an indie kid and have been distracted by trendy stuff as opposed to good stuff. I've definitely grown to appreciate Crowded House with age.

The guy is a legend.

I got into them in the 80s :w00t:
Talking of Split Enz, i remembered the Eddie Vedder, Johnny Marr DVD i have with the Finns, (there were others but those were the guys that stood out for me)...Loved this-

Mmm...

When you base your usernames on an album, you know it's special.

I've dumped friends on the grounds they don't get CH. Or as somone suggested, don't think they should admit it.

Wiki factoid: The title of the album is a reference to the French-language expression "gueule de bois", which means "hangover".
