You can if you don't do tasks that require it.
Photoshop is one example, although for large projects 16GB is nowhere near big enough. For the average user it's for bragging rights only, totally useless.
I run an esx farm on mine and 16gb is the bare minimum to do what I want.
Being lazy and not looking myself and in case anyone knows for certain, is this ram suitable for a macbook pro 15" 2012 model?

But if your lappy supports 1600Mhz (mine does not), this deal is certainly better value.

Apple premium. You guys always pay a bit more for the same thing! :D
I guess, they're just charging a bit more because you used their advisor tool to be sure it works on your laptop.
Edit: Actually I think it's just the Apple premium for "guarenteed compatible". Because my HP m6-1050sa, is £56.39 also. Unless, I'm missing something?
Thanks for the replies regarding 16GB uses guys. I never seem to use much over 4 with multiple applications and Civ 5 going.

I don't think there is any :) just the fact that it is for a Mac
Personally, I want the 'low memory' warnings to go away, lol. I currently have 8GB, but memory usage is at 90%+ every day due to my VM's, RAMDisk, all other apps etc.
Hot but I'm holding off till I can afford it, which is looking like after Christmas at the moment
A little cheaper and still 1600 MHz
A little cheaper and still 1600 MHz
With Crucial you pay a bit extra for the brand as you know you won't have problems also Crucial has less voltage :)

GeIL are also a massive RAM company - they do loads of really good overclocking RAM.
