Wonder how much they were selling at the wholesalers...

I know of one wholesaler that is selling them for £230+postage!

I noticed eclipse were selling them for £200 + vat, they said they won't price match and would sell it only at margin! Jog on!!

Ordered one ready for when I order my Alienware Aurora saves me paying dell's prices for SSD <_< Not updated with the ivy bridges yet guess they got to test the overclocking abit more if they will even bother doing it. Even Intel's said the big overlockers will more likely stick to 2nd gen as 3rd gen makes more heat so meh may just have to go for current builds

    Arggghhh!!

This is hot! Do I put my 128gb M4 in my ageing iMac and get this for my pc???

So pleased with the first M4 in my Netbook (WEI for disk up to 7.9 on Netbook) that I am ordering a second one here for £10.00 less thanks to OP.
    April10 code worked for me.
Replacing HDD in Netbook was quite easy. No cloning or re-installing Windows. Just used W7 Back up and restore.
Adding this to desk top will be a bit more difficult but I now feel confident I can accomplish this.

shame this doesn't come with a bracket or the option of a bracket for a couple of £ more as I need one for my desktop... However I think, like many others I will hold out I a bit longer. Regardless, this is still a very good deal!

At this rate, I am just going to wait.

I really want to get this, 256GB is the lowest I would want to go for a system drive really, will be able get the OS, all programs and maybe even some Steam games. Combine it with the 500GB drive my laptop came with in my optical bay with a caddy. And stick my Momentus XT (current drive) in my partners laptop.

Which means both laptops get a performance boost for £170 + price of a caddy. Cant really go wrong.

For those concerned about using this drive with a Sata II (3Gbps) controller, do not worry.

While transfer speed is often used as the main selling point, it's actually the IOPs and 4K read/writes that make all the difference.

As a long term user of SSDs with a Sata II controller, I can tell you it is well worth doing.

I'd even go as far as to say the difference between SSD on Sata II and III is minimal in real world conditions.

These are getting really competitive now - good times!
    Heat on :p

Thanks, bought and working great. One of the most reliable SSDs, along with Intel. For me this is by far the most important factor.

The crucial is a very reliable drive. I think the sandisk is using the sandforce controller which has caused problems in the vertex 3, agility 3 and others. Even if it isn't using that controller, I have heard very little of the sandisk but I've seen loads about the crucial and I'm happy with it's performance and reliability. Real world usage, you probably wouldn't notice any performance difference between the two.

The price has gone down! Now at £172.99 and the VOUCHER10 code still works.

    Just ordered for £162.98.

Brilliant deal - thanks for posting. Was going to wait longer to see if it dropped further but at this price it'll do nicely and an excuse to upgrade my laptop sooner than expected ;)
