you wanted to say 204-pin SODIMM DDR3, right?
And if people think having 8GB+ is too much, they might want to learn about RAMDisk.
Install RAMDisk, create a 2-4GB disk depending on how much RAM you can afford to lose, then move your pagefile to it.
- Those with their pagefile on slow old HDD will see a performance boost.
- Those with their pagefile on their SSD will increase the life of their drive by reducing the write cycles without losing any performance (might even see a little gain).

There must be a similar app for Mac's, but I don't care enough about you to go look for one :p.
I have 24GB RAM, so no need for this deal, muahahahahaaaaa!

Unless I'm missing something this is only going to be of relevance if you're using a 32 bit OS. Otherwise you'll be much better off having the memory 'in process' rather than needing a pagefile.

RAM disks are a total waste of time to all but a very small minority. SSDs are a much more sensible way to go and leave your RAM allocation to your OS.

Creating a ram disk for your page file is the WORST advice i've read in a LONG time lol.
Seriously, think about it haha.

That tells me you need to do a lot more reading; there's infinitely worse advice given on these hallowed pages every single day. Seriously, think about it.
Top notch offer though, reckon this will be on the weekly mail shot ;)
