Excellent price I think for a Crucial USB flash drive of this size (bear in mind before voting cold that this is tiny (see picture), and excellent for keeping in a wallet: "12.4 mm (w) by 34.3 mm (l) by 2.2mm (t); Weight: 1.62 g".

There's a 10% off promo at the moment (I had to add the product to my basket twice before it worked, then removed one of them), and 7% Quidco.

Looks like a must have 'Gadget'.

But then again maybe to small, I'm sure I'd lost it.

i have a similar 1gb thing i got for crimbo a couple of years ago - hangs on my keychain - occasionally a pc may not recognise but on the whole very reliable and a useful little bit of kit

I just use this instead:

With a micro sd card.

thats such a simple idea i'd never even thought of that ! thanks...and you can upgrade the micro sd as bigger capacities come out etc....great idea

everywhere i go has a card reader so i just carry the cards in minisd adapter- tbh id trust one of these crucial drives for frequent carrying over a dx reader and microsd though.

I've done the same thing for a while and another advantage is that if you crack the reader, sit on it with your bus fare in your back pocket, or something daft, tere's a good chance the card will be OK... Along with your data!

Crack a USB memory stick and you'rw cream crackered!!!

Excellent when combined with such tools as:
http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
http://www.ubcd4win.com/
http://www.knoppix.org/
which can be converted to boot off a flash drive.
Means you can boot an independent operating system off a flash drive if your system is unbootable and rescue files, or just try an operating system like linux without having to commit to it.

the micro sd thing is potentially a good idea until you need to remove the card

when it came to that for me, i snapped the card in half trying to get it out of the reader

i suppose they're chep enough to just leave them in

i think a sturdy usb drive is probably safer

Voted cold because it's pointlessly small.

Easily fixed, just stick it to a volkswagen van with some double-sided tape.

I'll have to go vote this hot now, just to balance out the silliness.

Surely the point is it's so small?

Which only makes it easier to lose. If this were twice as big would it be any worse as a product?

Probably wouldn't fit in a wallet as easily then

I've got mine attached to my mobile phone on a clip. Unobtrusive, always to hand and obvious if it goes missing.
