  Could you post a direct link to the firmware one should upgrade too (I bought one of these from Amazon for the wife last week, though that was a good deal at £112.68 incl VAT, at this price, I think I'll get one for my lappy too :-)

  
  
  fwiw, if you bought it only just last week, it may already have firmware 0309 on it. Check the label on the SSD.
  
  If you are running Windows, you can use 'AS SSD' utility to list the firmware version.
  AS SSD
  The 4 digit number directly below the full model number of the SSD is the firmware version.

  I promised myself one of these when they went sub £100, I have waited this long so no harm in waiting a while longer & see what happens to the prices of ssd's, new trigger point for this drive is set to £80.

  Good price. Hard to pick between the Intel 330 and this. As the Intel is far more reliable but £16 more.
  
  If you do pick this make sure you have Windows 7 and fully update the firmware on the drive its self as the initial release had bugs up the wing-wang.

  
  
  
  Not sure where you're getting your reliability figures from considering the 330 is just out, and it's their first 'enthusiast' SSD with a 3-year warranty rather than the normal Intel 5-year.

  to be honest its all sandforce based SSD that are problematic not the memory chip manufacturers as the sandforce controller was made by a seperate company that was fully focused on the speed and not much care for the reliability. if u want something that is reliable then the latest samsung series (830) is the best choice IMHO as they make their own controller fully in house developments, and it has been performing very well with reliability that appears to match the previous generation of intel SSD at a lower price point but with twice the speed due to the samsung 830 being sata6gbps and the old intels being sata 3gps.
