Didn't really need another SSD, but feck it, 525GB for 93 euro..!

One of the amazon.es Black Friday deals is this Crucial MX300 525GB SSD for 93.90 euro, which works out at around 80 quid + shipping.

For the money it's a decent enough SSD.
Cnet say "affordable, efficient and fast".

thanks, got one, Amazon exchange rate worked out at £87.
Per GB the same price as last year's black Friday deals when 240GB were going for £40.

Thanks for this

Thank you so much mate!

Normally you can get better value than Crucial but at this price it's worth considering. I would probably be tempted if I didn't already have four SSDs in my desktop and another two in laptops.

I think littlejimmy may be talking about some fairly old Crucial SSDs.
That or the BX200 with its horrible sustained write speeds...

November 2016 Updates
Welcome to November. ‘Tis the start of the holiday shopping season, which is when consumer SSD prices typically drop 15%. This year you can reach for your AMEX, but don’t expect to see the annual price drop. We’ve warned readers about an impending industry-wide NAND flash shortage, but this is the first month where we’ve seen price increases across the board.

No, normally you can get better value than Crucial SSDs as their performance isn't up to the standard of other similarly priced SSDs. In this case though the low price means it's a better deal than you can normally get and thus potentially worth taking over an Integral or other better performing drives.

Nothing to do with the way people voted. Blame the bankers who artificially make everything look worse.

Many thanks OP.
Just under £84 delivered using Clarity Card.

This has been the only thing Ive bought over Black friday and today, wish I could add more than 1 heat!

Hmm need to work out which deal works out cheaper (per gb) if you compare this deal to yesterday's Amazon 750gb deal.

Was the entire purpose of that post to boast about having high end ssd's?? I love the evo range but having installed all kinds of ssds, there's not much in it for average Joe's pc. Only see differences in the ultra high end

Yesterday's deal has gone unfortunately but the 750gb would be better! :(

750gb / £106 = 7.07p/gb

525gb / £87 = 6.03p/gb

525GB is a better deal

This cannot be said enough. In most everyday situations a cheaper drive will do just as well. Evos certainly have their place - I use them myself for my photo/video editing computer - but for most people without higher end needs pretty much any current SSD is going to be a huge improvement over a mechanical drive.

Your maths is the wrong way round mate.

750GB is cheaper per GB.

£105/750GB =~£0.14 per GB.
£87/525GB =~£0.167 per GB.

Still a good deal for 525GB in my opinion.

£106 / 750gb = 14.1p/gb

£87 / 525gb = 16.5p/gb

The 750gb deal was better. I think that's right.

Never ordered from Amazon Spain before if there is a problem say broken/doesn't arrive or whatever can you talk to Amazon UK staff that speak English or do I have to attempt my best pigeon Spanish using google translator?

If they're anything like Amazon Germany they'll have English speakers and the usual excellent returns etc.

Bt shop has the 750gb for £119, but I still ordered this one.
