Looks like you wouldn't use it for anything smaller than 17" - pity, but I don't want my 15.6" rattling around in it.
#7
Great bargain, shame about size
#8
bargain, just ordered for my 17" Dell. Cheers to the OP.

supposed to be only suitable for pretty thin laptops according to dimensions
anyone got this and use it with a machine a bit beefier?
(i got a vaio fw which sony says is 38.4cm x 2.9-3.7cm x 26.1cm)
crumpler states 39.2*26.5*2.5 which is thinner than pretty much all laptops other than the macbook it seems to be designed for.
my machine would probably fit as bit extra space length and width wise but would the case sit properly? anyone know?
edit: stuff it, ill take a punt and if not try selling here :)

edit2: forgot to add heat it was such a bargain!

Least your abit more prudent than me, dimensions didn't even cross my mind i just saw the RRP and did a quick google search and realised it was a bargain and impulse brought! Its gonna be a bit roomy for my 15.6" laptop!

lol :) again if yours fits the depth then it will maybe shrink the sides in a little making it more snug.
guy in review says he put a 12 inch in it and said felt well protected even though must obviously have been way too big.
i have to watch the dimensions as its in between screen size so cant use the common 15.6 inchers and dont want a rattler.
guess time will tell.

Not sold out. Showing as £39!

They put these great deals on to get us to go to the site, wonder how many they actually sold at this price?
#18
****, would've snapped that up but it's now £39 :(
#19
it has been this price (£11.59) for about 4 or 5 days, I thought it wasn't going to last long for that price so didnt bother repost it again. until I saw it today its still on this price.

The ones at £39 are from a different seller. It's not as if the person who was selling them at £11.59 suddenly upped the price.

It really isn't clear who was selling them at this price Sweetchuck. All that is clear is that the link goes to this deal at £39.
I believe it to be common knowledge on here that Amazon sells so many of an item at a bargain price before suddenly putting the price up by huge amounts.
Does Amazon need protecting on here? I hardly think so :|

It was completely clear who was selling them at that price. As has been mentioned several times on the thread already, it was a private merchant who was operating on behalf of Amazon: they sold through their stock and the only remaining options are from private sellers who are charging a higher price. Nothing to do with Amazon at all. Nobody has bumped up any prices: all of the prices you see there today are exactly the same as they were yesterday. The only difference is that the merchant who was selling them cheap no longer has any for sale and therefore no longer appears in the list of sellers.

Well, you believe wrong. That's not "common knowledge" on here at all. Plus, for your conspiracy theory to make any sense whatsoever, Amazon would have to be selling this item at a vastly inflated price today compared to yesterday. That's simply not the case, as Amazon aren't even offering this for sale at all.

I'm not here to defend Amazon, but for you to essentially accuse them of fixing the prices that PRIVATE SELLERS charge through the marketplace is simply ridiculous. If you see a comb on eBay for 10p and you decide to buy it only to discover that it's sold out when you try to complete your order, would you accuse eBay of eBay price-fixing if the only alternative combs listed on there cost £10,000? Of course not: they are items listed by private sellers and if you don't like the price, you don't buy.

Pardon me for not seeing any signs on the link of this private seller, only a price for the article of £39.
Many times people have posted items at a bargain price on Amazon and they have gone up to a much higher price almost immediately. Fact, not conspiracy theory.
If there prices were a little more consistent then maybe I wouldn't suspect them of luring people in with a few bargains in the hope of getting them to spend money elsewhere on the site.
As this is a forum for people to discuss all things about finding bargains then my comments are very relevant.
If this price was only offered by one private seller, nothing to do with Amazon that may be another matter, but to launch into a full scale counter attack on another member in defence of Amazons marketing practices is very strange.
The ebay comment is just too silly. No one accused Amazon of fixing prices charged by private sellers, the link simply does not go to a private seller! Even if the original post was for a private seller!

not clear?
"In stock.
Dispatched from and sold by total discount stores. "
100% clear

amzon prices do fluctuate and may have short term deals but it seems that these massive rises in price may be in large part not being able to read the page properly.

edit: basically agree with everything sweertchuck says, get a grip!

anyone got theirs? mines due wednesday but slim chance now.

yeah mine was same estimate but its been sitting in the same place for five days (guessing someplace near wales) so no hope before xmas... not that ive not managed for months with no case now :)
was just hoping for a heads up on the fit :)

It's a bit tight on an old style MacBook Pro - it does fit though.

It's really not that plush either. I reckon the review on Amazon may have been written by one of the sellers...

Mine is heading straight to eBay.
#28
mines still listed as being near wales according to tracking - did actually arrive later on 22nd though.

the description of the item is a bit off as the item itself states 'exclusively for 17inch macbook pro' rather than the description which is quite generic even though macbook mentioned.

leather is quite nice, not particularly padded or soft inside but not bad at all.

the filler foam inside the sleeve is about 1.5cm thick giving an idea of how thick a laptop should be inside it.
for a 17incher you would really want to stick to the maximum 2.5cm but my slightly smaller but thicker machine fits in not bad and the sleeve seems to take it naturally.

when you see it the zip design is a bit poor, a longer zip for easier insertion and removal would be better and make the case more streamlined looking.

not sure if am keeping but seems worth the money.

agree the review on amazon is a joke though.
